The dreaded period binge...

5 pieces of pizza at 3am because I was craving it. I really regret it. The scale jumped from all the bloating and I can't tell where I am really at. I am ready for this period to be over so I can stay on track and get a good idea of my weight. I'm not recording my weight until it drops below my last recorded weight. I feel like a whale. I had 3 sausages and an egg with an orange for lunch. I technically only have like 180 calories left for the day because of all the pizza I ate in the middle of the night so I know I am going to go over my calorie goal with dinner unless I want to feel starving. And I don't. I starve fevers, feed colds, and give my period whatever the hell it wants.

Nutrition trumps calories every single time. So even if you go over on calories, you MUST eat. Otherwise, you'll be doing a binge/restrict cycle that's hard to break out of.
That being said, for periods, especially, getting enough iron, sodium, and MAGNESIUM can make all the different. B12 and C are also required with the iron to make new blood cells.... so...

I always take iron, sodium, magnesium,B12 & C and I ALWAYS binge on my period. So sad.1

@saraonly9913 - Have you ever looked into using Amino Acids to help break the binge/restrict/addiction cycle? I still get compulsive eating and binge episodes periodically, but using some amino therapies helped me a lot, as did getting my hormone levels updated. (HUGS)1

Sorry it's taken me so long to answer. No, I never thought of amino acid therapy. I will have to look into that. Thank you.0

These are my favorite articles on the subject. While not all directly relate to binging, I just swap out "binging" for whatever addiction is referenced in the article. There's enough overlap it makes sense to me that way.
