Hopefully you don't mind me posting today's discussion.
Today's topic:
What are some of your exercises or activities that you do?
How often do you do it?
What works for you?

The elliptical is what I do.
I usually ride 3-4 days per week.
I mix in some walking as weather permits.
Also do some push ups and crunches a few times a week.
Hmm. That reminds me, LOL.
edit: I find that regular exercise is not only for physical benefits, but I feel it burns away the stress of the day.1 -
@jasper60103 Not a problem! You beat me to it.1

I walk 6 days a week with the dogs sometimes 7 if the mood strikes. They would prefer it be 7 all the time, but weekends run on a different schedule. Typical is 2-2.5 miles/day.
I walk at lunch with coworkers 4-5 days/week, scheduling permitting... another 2 miles.
4 days per week I practice Taekwondo - anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes, depending on how sore I am and where I am in my training cycle.

Monday through Friday finds me at my fitness center before I head to work. I do weight training 3 times a week and will do fast walking or stationary cycling after the weight training. The other 2 days I do run/walk intervals on the treadmill.
Saturday and Sunday finds me outside. Last weekend was run/walk outdoors with my friend on Saturday and then bike riding on Sunday, again outdoors.
This weekend plus Monday will be hiking in Wisconsin using my heavy bike as a shuttle to support these point-to-point hikes.
It is the rare day that I don't do formal activity. The activity helps me burn off the stress of work and helps better regulate my mood. DH drove me to the fitness center back when I had eye surgery and was grounded. He fully supports all my activities because it makes me easier to live with ;-)1 -
Sorry to say at this point I really am not exercising. I wouldn't say I'm sedentary b/c I don't work behind a desk. I'm usually out doing something walking etc;. I do sit alot but get and around quite a bit.
I recently on 9/30 fell due to my left foot giving way (we don't know why) creating a fall going down some stairs. Holding on to the rail with my right hand I tore all the tenders and muscles in my right shoulder without tearing the rotary cuff thank goodness.
Since the fall and all the x-rays I have severe arthritis in my shoulders, knees, ankles and who knows where else.
All health issues aside the Dr's and physical therapist have decided that I can go to the gym ride a stationary bike on low intensity and also the machine that when you stand you make a circular motion with you feet with very low intensity. So I'm excited about getting started with that program asap.
I have to decide to cut the time out to get this done.

I joke I have exercise ADD since I'm constantly switching things up so I don't get bored.
Currently I do Crossfit 2x a week, dance class 1x a week, and I stream Beachbody Workouts 1-2x a week.
Dog walking also plays a big part in my physical activity. Not only does my own dog need daily walks of at least 45 minutes a day, but I also volunteer once a week to walk shelter dogs. And while I can skip the gym, I can't skip Chance's walk or I have 65lbs repeatedly pouncing on my stomach until I get my butt off the couch (I wish I was kidding!).2 -
I read this as TOL heads out the door to walk out 45# baby. I used to walk with them, but my back won't take it.2

I do aqua aerobics six days a week, and enjoy it. Easy on my joints and have made friends with many new people.
I started to swim laps a couple years ago. First 1/4 mile now I swim 1/2 mile which is sixteen lengths in a 25 meter pool. I was never a swimmer before this, now I find I really enjoy it. I do laps a few days s week, not every day.
My walking is primarily with Sadie, our six yo dog. I have a goal of 10K steps s day but have not been hitting it since cooler weather. (Poor excuse I know.)

Pilates 2x per week. This has been my anchor for years. Off next week for holidays.
Pickleball 2-4 times per week.
Yoga. Went today. Plan on tomorrow.
Fishing. Vertigo has kept me off the boat for several weeks. Need to get back.3 -

No formal exercise program. Walk and hike for fun and sometimes work. Snowshoe when I can.1 -
Oh I also took two Tai Classes for something different
I signed up for Chair Yoga starting in January. Trying new things helps break the monotony of doing the same old thing.1 -
Great ideas, guys. Keep em coming. I have to admit a couple things I never heard of. Thank goodness for google.
Also, give yourself credit for domestic chores like, shopping, laundry and cleaning, etc. It all adds up!
The wife and I occasionally babysit a toddler. She keeps me busy. LOL.1
