Hello everyone,

When first starting keto, would I set my calorie goal at a “weight loss deficit” or at a “maintain” level? Is it ok to eat at a deficit before becoming fat adapted? I have 70 lbs to lose

Go ahead and set it to a deficit but if you get hungry eat more protein or fat and don't worry about going over. Keto is generally fairly quick for suppressing hunger for most people.

    Good luck.

    Great advice.

I definitely agree with learning to follow hunger signals. It’s not uncommon to actually have very little hunger after only a few days.
I’ve always felt like hunger goes in waves. I’ll go a few days not needing much then be extra hungry for a few days and I just try to go with it as long as it’s not boredom hunger or craving sweets or something.
