hi y'all. It has been a rough month for me. My husband suddenly suffered a hemorrhage in one of his eyes earlier this month. He ended up needing surgery in the hospital because of it, and we are dealing with post-op healing now. Thankfully there were no retinal tears or separation. In October last year he had retinal tears which were able to be repaired in the office. I now know more about eyes than I ever wanted to know . This has been quite the learning experience for us both. He is blessed to have an amazing eye surgeon.
One thing that I am proud of is that I continued to exercise 3-4 times a week throughout this time.
This month I began adding in using the rebounder whenever Leslie does a 'boosted walking' or 'HIIT power surge'. I just pause the DVD and set the timer, and then do some minutes on the rebounder to ramp up the intensity, then go back to the DVD until the next power surge, and repeat. I also added back in using the Gazelle again.
I just finished reading everyone's posting since the 10th, which was the last day I actually posted here. Well done y'all!! It was so encouraging when I read all of your posts .
Can you believe that January is almost finished? Let's end this month strong!

Awww....texasgardnr, I am so sorry to hear about your husband. Prayers said for a full and speedy recovery. I applaud you for continuing to get your walks and exercise in. The rebounder and Gazelle are brilliant addition. I would love a Gazelle.

So good to see you back here, Mary, I'm sorry to hear about the problems your DH is having. Thank goodness for such a wonderful surgeon. Praying he will recover quickly.
I know the exercising you have done must have helped with the worry during that trying time. WTG Girl! You ARE finishing strong!1 -

Thank you @PinkyPan1 & @AnnofB, for your encouraging comments! Y'all remember what Leslie says about having a messy house :laugh: ... LOL, my DH couldn't see the half of it. Just kidding , it didn't get nearly as bad as I though it might during this time even though I was hanging around with my DH a lot since he couldn't work.
Yes, the walks really were good for the stress management. Often times I put taking care of myself aside during difficult times, but I'm realizing how much more that ends up being harder on me in the long run. You all were encouragement to me even if you didn't know it because I really did want to be able to eventually post miles here.
January 31: 4 miles - WAP Express: 4 mile Super Challenge! @AnnofB, I finally did it!! Even if that last mile seemed to last forever :noway:
37 miles this month.
@PinkyPan1, Great workouts!!!
@AnnofB, Great mileage! I have that DVD but haven't used it yet. Maybe I'm ready to try it out now.
Walk happy!

@AnnofB, that is too funny, Ann! It had been so long since I have been able to do the Super Challenge that I forgot that there even was a cool down :laugh: . I just kept thinking that I finally came this far and that I refused to quit lol.
Awesome first month of the year! Now I need to go to February and catch up on my posting there .
