I’ve found a HITT application I’m using for my interval training on my bike mounted on the stationary trainer. It fits my needs perfectly. I can create and edit my own programs: warmup, cooldown, number of intervals and rest periods, durations for each. Very slick. The app unlocked was $8, but worth it.

I'm looking for a new fitness tracker. My Jawbone Up (which I paid $14 for almost 2 years ago) is dying. Any suggestions?

My latest one was a Garmin Vivofit. I liked it, mut only wear it occasionally now when I switch things up.

I gave "up" on Jawbone a couple of years ago and went with Garmin too. The Vivofit HR that I have is easy to use and can sync to your cell phone or Bluetooth enabled laptop. My battery lasts around 3 days on a full charge.

I have a Gen 1 iWatch which has fitness tracking amongst other things. When I first got it, the iWatch seemed accurate. A couple of firmware updates ago, it stopped being accurate. I would go through a workout and a spirited elliptical session... 90 minutes of sweating... and the iWatch would only register 10 minutes of exercise.

Last week, Apple pushed another firmware update and it seems to be tracking properly again... but we'll see...

When I began my loss last year I got a new fitbit alta HR. I like the slim look and have learned to wear it 24/7. The only thing it doesn't have is an altimeter so it doesn't track my flights of stairs like my previous tracker. It links very well to MFP and has some cool reminders to move every hour if you want and the data on my resting heart rate has been eye opening. Esp with an injury and then the flu. I never realized how stressed your entire system is by illness until I say my RHR go up to about 70 from mid 50's in Dec. I also used Couch to 5K to jump start my jogging program and learned a TON with that application. Due to a miniscus tear back in the 90's I never really expected to be able to run for more than a mile or so but with the AP, I was able to work my way up to even 10K distance! I look at all the tools we have available to us these days and am literally amazed. I can remember back when I started dieting in the 70's as a teenager, it was all manual logs and big chief tablets. MFP itself is pretty amazing. Other aps are weight trending ones like Happy Scale and now you could even link your scale to your computer! And then those hand held body fat/BMR measuring things are pretty neat also. I can remember being calipered when I was in the army. How embarrassing it that to a chubby sort of gal?!!!! :( So lots of cool tech gadgets and applications these days. Right now I use Map my run - kind of gave up on my garmin because I couldn't keep the chest strap in place no matter how tight I made it. I would really like some sort of tech to be able to see my pace and splits without pulling out my phone. Like a special lens to put on my sunglasses or something which is a heads up type display. WHo know what the future will bring tho, eh?

A friend is sending me her Garmin VivoMove that she never uses. Hoping it does what I want. I already use a Garmin cycle computer.

    And free.
