Okay so here's my Star Wars take on fitness: Everyone can start their own thread - for instance, you could be walking to the Goazon Badlands, or pole dancing on Canto Bight. Or you're welcome to jump in here and help me on this one. This is me using Star Wars to keep me motivated. Join in, enjoy reading, add your ideas.

So, General Organa called me into her office this morning, and I could tell by the serious look she gave me that it was not something good. "First of all, I want to reassure you I've heard nothing but praise for your work," she began. "So I hate to bring this up with you. But some of your colleagues have been talking..."

I probably turned pale. Had she found out about the way I'd been sneaking into the mess after hours and stealing the carbo bars? One or two would have been fine, but I had two crates stashed under my bed. I liked dunking them in hot drinks while sitting in bed reading maintenance manuals.

But it wasn't that. "You know that most of being a General is basically a desk job, and it involves a lot of sitting around," she continued. "It's not a very healthy life, and I have to take steps to counter that." She gave me a serious look. "And so do you. It's been a year since you completed your training, and I know you were as capable as anyone of running up D'Qera Heights with a power converter strapped to your back. But now?"

I wriggled my shoulders uncomfortably, suddenly aware of how tight my overalls were.

"In an emergency, we all have to run. We've done it before. Right now, do you honestly think you could?" she asked.

    I shook my head.

"So from now on, you're going to use one of the bikes to get around the Base. Hand in your hoverplatform. You weren't assigned one anyway."

Did nothing escape her beady eyes?

"Yes, General," I said. Time to get moving.

(And in real news, I decided to write this and check out all your posts while using the exercycle. By the time I've checked Facebook it'll be 50 minutes on the bike. Easily enough to ride around D'Qar base five or six times.)
