Happy Monday All! lol I only like the Mondays that I'm leaving to go off shift tomorrow. Not the Mondays where I have to drive north for 8-9 hours to get to work lol Luckily tomorrow is when I head home.
Sarah - Geez! That's some crazy weather you're having there. Glad to hear your power didn't go out. I hope it stayed that way and everything is ok!!
Lois - I quickly checked out that R8 Roll Recovery device thingy and it looks pretty cool. Looks like it sold out everywhere online on the few places I looked (Amazon, Ebay, etc). I'm gonna look on my days off for a bar roller, like a rolling pin style. If I can't find one, I'll try my rolling pin
Back home down south, we just got a big winter storm. It's the most snow we've had at home all year. We've had an unusually low amount of snow this year and now, 30 cms just hit overnight. Everyone knew it was coming and all the warnings were out there, so hopefully everyone is being safe. I hope the snow stops and the roads are cleared off by tomorrow for our drive home.

Holding. Rough week last week and I'll share more soon. Just super duper stressful and not eating like I should (actually, more like not eating at night - stomach in knots). Headed to see the nutritionist this am.
Kelly - I ordered mine right from their site when I was going through ACL rehab. https://rollrecovery.com/r8. It's amazing. Drive safely in that yucky weather.
Sarah - I keep thinking of your weather as I listen to the news. Please be safe.
Sheesh - still with that adorable grandson. And I'm sure she'd rather be holding him or one of the others instead of her iPad to check in. Missing Grandma!!
Gotta run0 -
At least you're maintaining Lois! Keep your head up during this stressful time.
The problem with ordering from their website is that the pricing is in American dollars. So $100USD with today's Canadian Dollar would cost me $129.86. And that doesn't even include the shipping cost which would probably be outrageous to Canada. It's not just worth it. I'll try something else for now!0 -
Ah. I keep forgetting that part. Get a standard foam roller. Super helpful0

Arghhh. Frustration. I had to work late last night and so couldn't walk with my buddy, but we had planned to meet tonight at 6:30. Just got a text that she's going home instead because of the freezing rain. There is virtually nothing falling now and I'm pretty sure there are enough chemicals on the roads for those to be fine and stay fine. But then she lives alone, so maybe I'd feel the same if I were in her shoes.
Last night, I finally made it on the TM about 11:15 and I walked until the Fitbit went around to zero. One thing about it--at midnight, whatever you've done is done, and it's another day!
Kelly, I hope you make it safely home today. I'm sure you're chuckling about folks who worry about a little freezing rain.
Regarding foam rollers, a FB friend posted that she is having a knee problem (she's a dancer) and several people reminded her to keep a foam roller with her. I had not even thought about those until you ladies discussed them here.
Hubby had one minor issue with leg cramps again Sunday night. The doc put him on a different statin at a lower dose, hoping that the problem he had with Lipitor would not occur with this one. But one day in, and he had a cramp. So I think that's going to be the catalyst for us to focus more closely on diet. Gosh, I hope I haven't already told you this! My memory doesn't go very far these days. I'm chalking that up to job stress!0 -

Up at about a half pound and very frustrated. I did get to walk with my buddy last night after all. She decided on the way home that the weather was okay. I got more than 11,000 steps after another long day of sitting at a desk, so that's good. But overall, I'm getting a bit discouraged. I wonder if sleep is one of my issues. It seems like I'm working until around 7 at night with no breaks during the day to speak of, so by the time I walk, have dinner, do some household chores, and take care of other personal things, 5 hours have gone by like a flash, and I'm going to bed at midnight or even later. Then it takes a while for my brain to turn off. I need to work on that, particularly since daylight savings time starts this weekend, and so we'll be losing an hours sleep on Saturday night and what will feel like midnight for a while will really be 1 a.m.
Wish I had something positive to say, but I'm just in a little bit of funk with gloomy weather, pain in my arm today, and more to do than I can get done. Thankfully these moods don't tend to come and stay.0 -
SW for this week? Sucky week? LOL0

I'm finally back! Wow. More than 3 weeks in Cali!! We missed some awful weather here, only had a couple days of rain there. Our grandkids were a handful, and so much fun. Baby boy took longer to arrive than anticipated, finally arriving on February 26th! He's adorable.
I have only skimmed through your past posts. . I'll catch up more later. I did weigh this morning:
SW: 156
Last: 130.2
TW: 130
Well, I maintained probably because of chasing little ones and their busy schedules of music class, ballet, soccer, pre-school, etc. Whew! We also played golf a few times and I did ONE weight lifting session. Trainer here tomorrow. I hope she doesn't kill me.
Sarah, it looks like more winter weather headed your way. Kelly, probably you too. It's sunny here for now, but lots of snow on the ground. I totally forgot about Daylight Saving Time this weekend. Argh. All we can do is let go of what we cannot control, right?
Lois, sounds like you're dealing with stress too. And, the foam roller is great! I used it, but my daughter absolutely swears by it.
Gotta go, but I'll check back tomorrow. Spring is right around the corner! Let's get psyched about it, and recommit to our goals!0 -
My walking buddy said she would not be able to walk again until next week, but then last night when it was too late, I checked my cell and she had sent a message around 6 asking if I planned to walk last night. Rats! I do wish that people would remember that I don't keep my cell phone around me all the time. When she sent the text, it was downstairs in my purse and so I didn't hear the signal. I ended up only getting about 40 minutes in on the treadmill after a very sedentary day. But at least I got that, albeit from 11:20 to midnight! And then I was wide awake again until almost 2 a.m. Bella and I watched the rerun of "The 11th Hour" at 1 a.m. Tabby cats are very opinionated about politics! LOL
Sheesh, maintaining your weight when you're away from home and not able to log your food is encouraging. It probably means that we're getting pretty good at managing intake even when things are out of the ordinary. Congrats!
Lois and Kelly, hope all is well. At least we've made it to another weekend, my friends!

Sarah, our generation doesn't consider the cell phone another appendage like the younger people do. I've had to try really hard to keep it nearby since that is the new reality, and the way family and friends expect to communicate these days. I have a sinking feeling nobody is going to change it for my sake The new reality.
Glad to hear you're utilizing your treadmill. Hate 'em, but we gotta do it.
The main goal I had while away was to eat small portions . . just never eat a lot. I ate and drank what I wanted, but tries to keep it small. I used small plates, and also there wasn't a lot of sitting around snacking, like plagues hubby and I here at home. I really only got one "workout", two rounds of golf, and lots of walking around parks, etc. So, it really shows the value of controlling portions and snacking.
I had my trainer yesterday. She was easier on me, but I still feel it today. But, it felt really good to wake up my body and muscles0
