    Weekly Weigh-in Post

    6/23/17: 200lbs
    Began OMAD/Intermittent fasting on Monday 6/26/17
    6/30/17: 197lbs
    7/07/17: 195lbs
    7/14/17: 198.8 lbs (after spending a week at Disney Parks in Florida and IF went out the window)
    7/21/17: 199 lbs
    7/28/17: From 7/28 until 9/1 I did sporadic intermittent fasting, but wasn't very focused. My weight stayed around 198-197.

    Sept, Oct, Nov, Dec- very casual and sporadic fasting during the school day. Usually I would sip coffee with vanilla creamer between the hours of 6:30am-11:00am and have lunch at 11 with dinner around 5. Weight slowly crept from 195 to 202 lbs.

    New year and fresh motivation to lose weight.
    Weigh-ins for 2018:

    1/14/18: 200.2 lbs and pretty much living in workout pants as my jeans feel tight and my stomach bloated. New resolve to practice fasting.

    Weekly Weigh-in day is first thing in the morning on Fridays:
    1/14/18 200.2 lbs
    1/19/18 197.8 lbs :smile: (-2.4)
    1/25/18 198.0 lbs (+0.2)
    2/2/18 196.4 lbs yay! (-1.6)

    2/9/18 196.4 lbs (+0)
    2/16/18 196.4 lbs (+0) Had a busy week with unusual events. Used this as an excuse to snack throughout the day. Some stress snacking on junk food too.

    Wow! What a weekend it was! I am currently home from work today tending to a fat lip...more on that story later in this post.

    On Saturday my daughter (who is 6 years old) had a playdate with 2 of her friends at an indoor playground. While we were there, the younger brother of one of her friends had a seizure on the playground! This was a first for him and his mother so there was huge panic. 911 was called and firemen rushed him to the hospital. This was definitely one of the scariest moments in my life thus far. I ended up taking this child's older sister (the friend of my daughter) home with us so her parents could go to the hospital with brother. Hours later we discovered it was a febrile seizure. These can happen with young children when they begin to develop a fever from a viral infection.

    Then last night I was at my husband's softball game. He plays weekly with teachers from a nearby school district and my daughter and I usually come and watch. I had a few kids with me and we were playing catch behind the backstop near the bleachers and a fowl ball flew up over the backstop and while I quickly moved kids out of the way I ended up being popped in the mouth with the ball! I felt so stupid.

    Luckily my teeth are still my mouth, but I have a really nasty bruise around my mouth and a huge fat lip.

    So....I got a substitute teacher for my 1st graders today and I am taking the day off to sit on the couch and rest. My class has a field trip to the zoo tomorrow so fasting may or may not happen tomorrow. We will see....and I will not make a big deal out of it if I don't. I am going to continue living my life. If I am successful fasting one day....great. If not...I am not going to give myself a hard time or whine about it.

    No drama here!

    WOW so sorry about the fat lip, that had to hurt. Hope the little boy is doing okay.

    I totally agree-if you beat yourself up over not doing something (OMAD or fasting) it really doesn't pay off. Negative self talk is the worst talk ever. If you don't do it tomorrow, it won't be the end of the world. I feel like for me OMAD has been a breeze and even if I screw up for some reason it isn't as big of a deal as it was when I counted every calorie consumed, maybe just a different way of thinking.

    So sorry about the ball incident! That is awful! Luckily, you were able to save the little ones. I agree with Donna -- if it happens, it happens. If not, you can always get back to it when you're ready.

    Thanks! I am almost better. Just a slight bruise under my lip and on the inside. The swelling has gone way down.

    Update...

    Fasting did not happen last week. More like a 7 day binge morning, noon and night.

    There is going to be a statewide teacher strike in Arizona beginning this Thursday for the first time in history, and as a teacher who does not want to strike, I find it very stressful as I am in the minority. We are a very red Republican state and unions simply do not exist. While I would appreciate a raise as well as more funding for students, I know that striking puts stress on the parents and kids as they scramble for childcare, not to mention the students who rely on free breakfast and lunch from school. It's messy and it makes me sad.

    I also battled a mouth injury this week that began as a fat lip and then turned into very painful canker sores at the sight of the injury. One would think that would stop me from eating....but no, I ate lots and lots of junk food. Moving on.

    We will see what happens this week with the teacher strike.
