Shirataki Miracle Noodles...

So has anybody tried these things and liked them? I bought a few online for a bulk-purchase price, tried one how someone recommended (paper towel dry and pan fry), and hated it. I tried it twice with two different styles of noodles. The only way I can describe the taste is like trying to chew through squid tentacles. I've always had a problem with not being able to eat rubbery foods. Is there actually a way to cook them so they're not that consistency or am I just doomed to never eat pasta again?

In the Uk we have zero noodles which is made from the Konjac Plant and they do rice as well. They do smell when you first take them out of the packet but you rinse them and the smell goes. I think they are great when you are having a hungry day and don't want to add calories or carbs or protein in your daily allowance but it bulks out your meal and makes you feel more satisfied. I have not tried the shirataki noodles ....0

I have, they smell horrible but they taste okay. I stir fried them with vegetables and chicken. The clerk at Whole Foods told me that you have to rinse them a lot before you cook them, it gets rid of the smell. What brand did you use?0
