Buy condiments or make your own?

I love the convenience of buying things like Tessemae's ranch or Primal Kitchen Mayo, but I think it's cheaper to make your own. Do you buy your condiments or make your own?

I don't use a whole lot of condiments, but I have made low carb BBQ sauce that turned out pretty good:

    Ingredients
    2 1/2 6-oz cans Tomato paste
    1/2 cup Apple cider vinegar
1/3 cup Yacon syrup (or sweetener of choice)
    2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
    1 tbsp Liquid hickory smoke
    2 tsp Smoked paprika
    1 tsp Garlic powder
    1/2 tsp Onion powder

I make my own mayonnaise and BBQ sauce and salad dressings. And power bars - not a condiment.

I make my own mayo, BBQ, ketchup, all marinades (think korean, jerk, etc), and ranch dressing.

Note that for ranch, my ranch is non-paleo as I use homemade greek yogurt and the whey from it as the base as I don't have issues with yogurt.

Oh! Did you come up with your own marinade recipes or is there one you follow? I love marinade especially for steak!

I came up with my own marinades.

I don't particularly like to marinade steak as I buy nice prime dry aged rib eyes if I eat a steak, but I have done beef cubes depending on what I want.

My favorite right now is Korean or Jerk, which I use on chicken mostly, but can easily be used on beef.

Korean (so one of my favorite)!!

2cm long fresh ginger root, peeled and roughly diced (about 1 tablespoon grated)
2 cloves garlic, peeled and roughly diced
    1 tablespoon fish sauce
    3 tablespoons coconut aminos
    1 teaspoon sesame oil
    2 tablespoons honey
    1 tablespoon rice wine (optional)
    3 teaspoons korean red powder
    1 tablespoon tomato paste
    4 tablespoons water

I throw this all in with chicken thighs and leave it overnight. Next day, throw it ALL in my instant pot or oven. After cooking, I reduce the sauce and add more honey/seasoning to taste. I have even used this with Salmon (marinating only for 30 minutes or so and it is wonderful.

    Jerk

    ½- medium onion coarsely chopped
4 medium scallions green onions chopped
    2-3 Tablespoons Fresh Thyme
    1½ tablespoons fresh ginger chopped
    8 Garlic cloves chopped
    1 Tablespoon cinnamon powder
    1 Tablespoon Allspice coarsely ground
    1 tablespoon coarsely white pepper
    ½ Tablespoon freshly grated nutmeg
    2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
    2 Tablespoons Honey
    2 Tablespoons coconut aminos
    1 cup Fresh Mango, Pineapple
1 or more Scotch Bonnet Pepper adjust to taste

Again, I throw it all together and marinate over night.

For basic marinades, you can't go wrong with garlic, balsamic vinegar, olive or avocado oil and any spices you want.

Yacon is a low glycemic syrup from a root that is said to suppress appetite. I use it because it doesn't spike my insulin, it's low carb and I use to sweeten just about anything. Some folks use it as a weight loss supplement (I don't). To me it has a mild molasses flavor.
