Morning folks!
Hope you all had a good weekend ...now - here's a question. Does anyone use this forum anymore? I notice a lor more wall action going on, and if that's working instead, I'll stop writing in this group.
If you're lurking and using the messages, please type a one liner to let us know you're using the forum and it's keeping you going. If there isnt anyone, we can focus on the personal friends lists! ta much

Hehe, I was out havin' a superbly chilling weekend! It was MrGHS's birthday on Sat and the plan was to go camping early on Sat morning, go exploring Cirencester (old Roman town, gorgeous buildings) and on Sunday cycle over the Roman villa ruin about 11 miles north of the town.
As we went to a friends wedding reception on Friday night, we got in at 2am, slept until 10, hd pancakes for breakfast and got to the campsite about 2.30. Had lunch at 3, cycled into town and explored whilst getting *soaked* then had the yummiest supper! I was worried about the 2miles cycling back as it was up hill, but it was EASY!! Lovin' the strong legs
On sunday we slept until 9.30 (the wine helped I think) and then went into town for waffles with eggs and then ice cream for breakfast (yum) and as it was chucking it down we packed everything away and drove to the ruins instead. I'm glad we did as the signs were mad and we ended up driving about 15m, and the last 3 were up and down very steep hills. Got home at 5pm and watched a film whilst eating his birthday cake - ginger syrup. Awesome weekend!
Back to Insanity this morning! How was your weekend? When is the surgery - do you have to plan anything for whilst your husband is convalescing?0 -
Your weekend sounds so peaceful and sort of relaxing (other than the bike ride) but it sounds so wonderful. Nothing like just spending time with the mister doing stuff.
I started JBR today and I can honestly say that about 3/4 of the way thru I had that epiphany that I had when I started Insanity and I got teary....like I felt accomplished, like she was talking to me and not giving up on me. I felt renewed. I have been struggling since finishing insanity with finding something comparable mentally and JBR did that! Its a really good workout and although I do miss insanity I know I will do it once again. I think I will probably do it after JBR. Either that or Focus T25 although I heard it isn't as challenging as insanity, but I don't know. Did you miss Insanity while you were away?
Surgery is this Friday and supposedly it is day surgery and then he will have home care for a while and then months of healing. The doctor said he thinks maybe 6 months but is unsure due to his case thinks it might be even longer. I'm not scared for him about the surgery because I know he will handle it, but it terrifies me to think of the pain he will be in for months as he heals. I've just never seen him in a huge amount of pain, although he is pretty tough and is very quiet about it, but i'm afraid it may be a pain that he just won't handle well. I guess time will tell. My mom is going to be here to help me while he is recovering at least for a week and a half so i'm very happy about that, I miss my mom a lot and I get great strength from her. I wish she lived here all the time.
I plan to continue with Jillian and try to get a run in or bike ride however my running may be limited to the treadmill for the first little bit.
Seems today is a very hormonal day or something because I am even tearing up now lol. stupid hormones....and i'm not even due for any hormonal changes lol wtf?!0 -
Hey, it sounds like you've been under a lot of pressure for a while and you are constantly pushing yourself - hormones aint making you cry, it sounds like you're pushing a lot and explaining things to another person often makes the emotions come to the surface
Rather like someone asking you 'are you okay' and UNTIL they asked you were fine - and then you start crying because now they've made everything seem to be right at the forefront of your mind!
Your poor hub, it sounds like a long few months for you all but it also sounds neccessary. I'm glad you have the support from your Mom when needed - I'm lucky with my Mum living only 20 mins away but we see each other once a month or so normally!
I had a humph moment this morning - I sat in front of the comp pulling on my trainers and then realised I just didnt want to do Insanity this morning. I went back to bed and chatted with the Mister! I'm bored of month one - I've got this week, next week conditioning and then start month two. I'm thinking I'll do conditioning wed, thurs and fri morning and then start month 2 next week. If I dont get back into it, I've got the Betty Rocker 30 day pack which I wanted to try last month and didnt with Insanity so I'll give that a go if Insanity dont work. Eventually, I can see myself mixing Insanity, running and Betty Rocker 4-5 times a week in the mornings. I think!0 -
**hugs** you are a sweetie. It's definitely been a long couple months but I guess now that we have a surgery date that we have been waiting for since November, its now very real. I just hope that the bone infection has gone and if it has not completely gone, I just hope its nothing more serious.
Have to wait and see I guess. My husband is very strong and I take great strength from him, my mom I get a lot of strength from because she had to deal with my dad being sick before he passed. I know that what is meant to be is meant to be and that the big power above doesn't give us more than we can handle.
You didn't have any humfph this morning??? For insanity?? are you crazy??? lol I totally understand though because you already finished month 2 once and month 1 would seem not as very challenging. I often thought about doing two programs at once and switching off but I really do love Insanity so much. But it is important that I do take a break since I am not sure what I will be able to fit in with school and tending to my hubby. And holy crap Jillian's workout surprised me when I woke up this morning with sore chest muscles...let's put it this way, I haven't felt my chest muscles that tight in a long time, I don't even think with Insanity I felt them like that!
I hope you get your Insanity done today and get back into the rhythm of doing it but I can understand your feelings lately especially in month 1.
**hugs** its nice to have someone to talk to
PS What is betty rocker?0 -
I agree - even if its just us using this message board, I like it and use the chatter time! waiting since November *sucks*...my sister had been waiting a long time for her help from the hosp. She was thrown off her horse 2 years ago and the original surgery to put a plate on her shoulder bones didnt work - the doc said she was his first failure in 15 years! So she had a steroid injection in Feb - which it turned out they put in the wrong place, and just had another last week, in the right place. She'll find out in September if surgery is the next step but is panicking about being maid of honour in a sling in December :P Hope your husband can look smart if need be :P He sounds like a lovely chap and you have a very strong relationship
I overslept this morning as we went out with my parents last night for the misters birthday (yeah, I know, we stretch out the fun!) and we got in an hour later than I normally go to bed! Its fine though, I'm up for cardio conditioning tomorrow morning and I'll be ready!
Betty Rocker I came across last month - http://thebettyrocker.com/ She offered a 30 day chellenge, with each week doing 3 or 4 times a series of moves which she showed on her website. She also issued a PDF for each week, showing the moves and with her notes on what to check on form and so on. Because I was doing insanity, I didnt have time but I'd like to try it. If you want, I'll email you the PDFs she issued, as I probably shouldnt put them on here! She offered it free of charge, and a facebook support group and something crazy like 10,000 signed up for it. I dont know how many took up the $8/month offer after the challenge closed. But - it looked great, it's just more cardio/body weight stuff in a different format and a bit of variety is always good!0 -
whaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.....
I'm over by 100-200 every day for 5 days, and have cake at least once a day, and biscuits. And I lose half a kilo overnight. Whaaaaaaaaaaa?! this weight loss stuff baffles me :P0 -
http://thebettyrocker.com/witness-the-fitness-challenge-week-1/ just came across this if anyone's interested!0

It seems doctors don't care a huge amount nowadays, you are just a number or paycheck. Its really unfortunate because it gives those doctors who actually want to help people get the bad rap too. I hope your sister starts feeling better and doesn't require surgery, unfortunately it seems that the longer things are left the higher the chance surgery is required.
My husband has been very clear to his doctor as to what he requires and wants and has been adamant. He is a very strong guy and we definitely have a stronger relationship then what we have had, we have been together for over 17 years and married for 12 and know each other very well. He is my best friend and I know that I can generally talk to him about anything. Its going to be really hard to see him in any pain, because he is so tough. I know that if he complains of pain then it is so bad because he is really tough. He's had his leg sliced to the bone, hand cut in half and has never been under anesthesia, hes a tough bugger so I hope that he won't be in ahuge amount of pain because I am unsure how to take it away.
I am going to check out bettyrocker, it sounds awesome! Thanks for the link by the way. I may not be on the next couple days while I deal with him and figure out what he needs from me but i'm hopeful I will be able to pop on.
Remember with the cals though that it takes a bit for your body to adjust especially when you change cals but 1-200 isn't too bad over. I would just have a small piece of cake or just none, its never generally any good anyways lol unless of course its homemade, I know I would have a problem with homemade, so much yummier lol.0 -
methinks you is correct it's hard sticking to macros and getting the cals in for me, normally I'm at macro but 250 or so under but its more and it's workin'
best wishes for you guys!0
