I find that knowing the calories and macro content of what I eat is very helpful. I also like having the tools to combine diet, exercise, and BG logs.
Feel free to add me, if you like, but I do have my food log private.2 -
For me there was a certain amount of trial and error as I sorted out what I needed to do. I found the low carb group to be pretty helpful. For me it was important to track the bg readings and see how I reacted to different things.
This will sound bad, but I have not found the Youtube videos by the various "names" to be very helpful. They present to me as a little too simple and formulaic. I feel as if I am watching a political ad. I do think they probably provide some encouragement or validation to some people.
In terms of the friends, identify some people who do not present as idiots or foaming-at-the-mouth zealots. Send some invitations.3 -
Dietary tips or advice from people going through a similar thing has been helpful to me. The Low Carber Daily group has a great collection of T2D resources in their stickies that is helpful.
I don't use friends very much. I dont log much anymore either, but it helps when I start to have calories creep up on me.
To add people, click on their blue name by their picture. You'll get a new screen with their picture and name again so click it again. Then you'll see a button for "Add as a Friend". Then those people decide if they agree to be friends.1 -
