Looking for some buddies here.
31, mom, grad student, nerd, love tattoos.
I work out nearly daily, i have an open diary (gluten free and high protein). I have 2 autoimmune diseases; thyroid and celiac disease. I have fibro as well.
I've been getting into strength training about the past month or so.

I've lost 60-70 lbs so far... About 40 to go.

Hi, welcome and well done for all the weight lost.

I'd imagine going gluten free must have been a challenge, it seems to be almost everywhere, well done for navigating your way through the minefield.
I hope your workouts and strength training are helping your fibro a bit.

Congratulations on your weight loss so far, good wishes for an even greater achievement. When you find something which makes a real difference, go for it whole heartedly. I hope you can overcome other issues too.

I wonder if you have come across the indication, fibro could have mitochondrial problems underpinning it. The internalional functional side of medicine is looking in this direction. Dr Sarah Myhill (UK) has written some very interesting articles relating to mitochondria and fibro/fateague, (one on Pro Health) She considers, in brief, the body is in a lactic acid state because of inadequate atp levels. She says vit b12 has been found helpful for her patients, along with b3, magnesium, enzyme Q10 and probably some other vitamins and minerals. I hope looking into this connection will help you overcome more of your issues. I know its tough with a young family at home.

    I'm hashi but full thyroid.

    Absolutely badass!

When I started weight training I noticed a distinct lack of pain from my typical endurance workouts. Curious to see what your results are as well.
