Hi, y'all. I hope you don't mind if I join you and try to absorb some knowledge! I know nothing about lifting or building muscle. For the last 15 years, I've been semi-disabled from multiple things--one being breast cancer and the after-effects of treatment (chemo/radiation/anti-hormone pill). But I'm taking my life back! Over the last year, I've lost 105lbs--about 40lbs have been lost since I had RNY surgery. I have another 40-50lbs left to lose and my doc wants me to add strength training to help with the metabolism and arthritis pain. I'm just now completing PT to help build core strength, improve balance, and build endurance. I'm mainly walking daily for 1/2-1 hour/day plus doing work on bands 3 days and isometric core exercises 3 times per week.
TIA for y'alls help!

I am new here as well. I am in my 60's and my hero is Ernestine Sheppard who is the oldest female bodybuilder at the age of 81. I want to be like her and need some support in doing it. I am currently 60 pounds overweight and struggle with diet. I have a weight lifting regime in place (designed by a PT) but have had trouble getting motivated to start and stay with it. I hope you don't mind if I join this group but I did not find one for women my age.3

Hi, I am new here as well and looking to find some friends to keep me accountable and progressing! I have been lifting on and off for years but have gotten a bit more serious over the past year.1
