A good layman's article regarding the "energy balance model" (CICO) vs the "fat deposition model" (insulin-centric).
It describes "obesogens" as an important reason for the obesity epidemic. We know crystaline fructose is an obesogen. Another is bisphenol-A (BPA), which is found in an overwhelming number of food items and packaging material.

CICO did not work for me. I think there are just too many variables to keep track of it all. I've been LCHF/ketoing it for two years now and have not even considered CICO. I love being in the correct weight range and not hungry all the time.
