Now the weather is warm, the temptations are remarkable... whether beers, ice cream, barbecue or picnics... While Thanksgiving, Christmas & New Years end up having meals associated with them, it's very easy to blow up the diet in the summer.

Starting Spring shrub trimming today... with another day forecasting a high in the mid 90s.
Shrubs ain't a gonna like that at all. But it's only gonna get hotter.
While I don't much like working outdoors all day in this heat and humidity either, I will be dropping some pounds, even drinking 5 - 6 liters of water a day.1 -

Blood test prep for doctor visit: Triglycerides 73, HDL 73, LDL 103. (Looks good, to someone whose triglycerides once hit 402, HDL 39, LDL 161.)
Blood pressure 118/64 (used to run borderline to high, 140+/80+).
Doctor: "Cholesterol, good. Blood sugar, good. Blood pressure, good. Liver & kidneys, good. Keep doing what you've been doing."
So I stopped on the way home at the brewpub for an IPA. Doctor's orders!

Spent 4 days judging beer at the North American Brewers Association in Idaho Falls. Great fun seeing old friends and a nice break from the working grind. Walked everywhere we went and used the stairs instead of the elevators. Back to real life tomorrow. We shall see what news the scale brings in the morning.5

Decided to mix up my gym schedule a little, then fell during one of the new-to-me classes. Grade 2 ankle fracture; to match the one I had on my other side, a few years ago.3
