fantastic, well done.
I went through the same in March, found my electrolytes were very low. I've bounced back to the point the Dr is going to start reducing my levo and if I respond well there is a chance I could get of it altogether.

I have no idea who clicked the woo button. They probably have not needed to follow the science of endocrine interactions. I gave you a like because I did not want to hang on the end of a thread again...………. Weight gain is the symptom many get hooked on. For me it was the feeling like death you referred to which diminished me too.
I'm pleased for you. You have connected all your personal dots which is no mean feat. Some of us have needed to turn to the alternative for relief from our symptoms, for me it has been like pealing the skin and layers from an onion. My condition was unrecognised for many, many years. You are so right. Discovering the deficiencies within our bodies is key.
It can be easy for those for whom the standard t4 supplements work to a point, to stay with it. Others, many of us can be failed because our vitamin or mineral deficiencies do not enable the conversion of t4 to t3 in adequate amounts for us, this can only ever be about what works for us as individuals which may enlighten others who have similar difficulties to try things for themselves.
Mentioning anything "cleanse" on here, MFP generally, is anathema to many. Regrettably the range of symptoms is not recognised, some can have a greater negative effect on the body than others. For instance constipation, a common thyroid issue means the elimination of toxins is not efficient as desirable and can cause reabsorption of these very toxins; this can/will effect the way the pancreas and liver function, impacting on free bile flow with bile salts which can lead to restricted bile flow along the tubes and Gaul stones. The pancreas should be creating digestive enzymes among other tasks. High toxin levels as well as low t3 can cause mental health issues too. General medicine sees all mental health problems as unrelated to the endocrine efficiency. Thyroid conditions are way more complex than general medicine thinks we need to know. (may be understands for themselves)
Another issue I hold close is the replenishing of our digestive biome. This can require attention because we have used antibiotics and other medications, even having indulged in a poor diet. For women the complications extend farther with the use of contraceptive pills and implants containing copper! I developed copper toxicity because I took pills containing more copper than my body could eliminate on a daily basis. I had been ill advised.
Modern life is so very different to those of our ancestors even 100 years ago there are so many chemicals in our atmosphere, particularly for those living in cities and heavily built up areas or even within 200 yards of a main road where the instances of conditions such as stroke is greatly increased.
I commend you on your restoration to good health.6 -
Awesome job!! What type of nutritional cleansing did you do? I wake up every morning with extreme body aches and over the past 2 years my TSH levels keep rising even though my dr keeps increasing my synthroid. I asked about t3 but he doesn’t see the need to test. I also have lots of antibodies so I’m assuming I have Hashimotos. I just recently read about a connection between hypothyroidism and fibromyalgia and I’m wondering if my aches are thyroid related. Did you see a nutritionist or follow a particular cleansing plan?0
