Hi all!
OK, I'm kinda new to this so yes there will be lots of stupid stuff here. To put it simply, I like a nice rare steak or full rack of ribs. With that said.. I've tried this "healthy" I keep hearing about. Umm... I can't stand the lack of bite /flavor. Everything is so bitter and... Well gross. So I might not get the gains I could but is there a way to come up with a happy medium?

I'm trying to be a bit more healthy but again can't find affordable things that are also yummy.
Also trying to get rid of some extra lbs and cut in some definition /muscle.
I have another post about plateau that I learned a ton about. That kinda started to take a turn as a couple people assumed I knew more than I did. So please ask if I'm aware as I am probably not. Haha!

I'll answer any questions and or add me and check out whatever stats you need. It should be open I think.

Thank you kindly
Paul

Hi, Paul! Try looking at recipes on skinnyms.com. everything ice tried there has a TON of flavor and the site is set up in categories to meet your dietary needs.

Spices are your friend! I made some delicious pan seared veggies last night using garlic, onion powder, pepper, salt, ground coriander, and a little curry powder. They were delicious - and, technically, healthy.

I LOVE flavor. I can't stand boring foods. A quick fix when I'm in a hurry is garlic salt (good on most meats and veggies) and I keep some lemon pepper seasoning for shrimp or other seafood.

Don't be afraid to try some new things - I don't follow recipes, just tend to go through the spice cupboard and sprinkle in something that smells interesting for what I'm cooking. Only had one or two failures, most things turn out pretty tasty.

I make sure if I indulge it's something really flavorful, so I don't need much, but get the flavor I'm craving - feta cheese and olives with my chicken breast or in a salad, for example - I was obsessed with bacon and blue cheese last summer, but just one slice of bacon and just a little bit of blue cheese goes a long way, flavor-wise, so it wasn't too hard to fit into my macros :) My latest habit is keeping a Ro-Tel tomato and black bean mixture in the fridge (sometimes I'll add chili powder or siracha) it's a great topper for chicken or a sweet potato - sometimes I even use it as a salad dressing substitute
