I'm Laura. I am 48 and starting very low carb. I have done so in the past, but have been very lazy for the last year and a half because my husband has been in and out of the hospital and I have been living on fast/convenient food. I look forward to meeting everyone and getting tips and support. Friend me if you want!

Welcome back! I gained weight one year when my husband was in and out of the hospital a good bit, too. I hope yours is doing OK now!
I recently got back on the wagon as well. (Not super low carb though; aiming to stay around 30-40 gm net carbs per day.)0 -
Welcome. I too hope your hubby is doing better now.
And I too am another whose ideal diet slipped a bit this past year. Happily my slips seem to be getting smaller and more under control so it is easier to come back.3 -
Make me one of the crowd as well. Was trying to introduce some carbs back in for maintenance and guess what....They just kept growing and growing and after some weight gained back I've been back on strict Keto for a couple weeks now.
I feel so much better and back in control. Will have to figure out the maintenance thing once I get these extra pounds off!2 -

That happened to me, too, at maintenance! Hopefully we'll both figure it out once we get back to maintenance mode this time.0 -

Especially feeling better and back in control. Body wellness > mental wellness > good for the soul.1 -
Many things have carbs. What carbs are being reintroduced that is causing this weight creep and carb creep? Is it more broccoli, asparagus and perhaps even beets or is it cookies, pretzels and ice cream?
My N=1 has been that it is not really the carbohydrates but rather the hyper palatable sweet/salty/fatty carb concoctions that lead me to over eating. Not the basic vegetable carb.

For me it started with small things....Like maybe an occasional sweeter fruit or a scoop of mashed potatoes at Christmas. Nothing real big, but eventually you keep thinking you can get away with cheating more and more and it turns into tortillas and bread, etc.
I really never have gotten back to where I want to eat a lot of sweet stuff and I can't stand soda or sweet tea anymore, but once I started eating more carbs then I wanted to eat more in volume of food and pretty soon the calories get out of control....Whether it's low carb food or not....0 -
Ahh, over the years I’m fallen off(sometimes harder than others). The best part is there are lots of hands reaching down to help you back up!3
