We meet here to explore, share, celebrate, and (sometimes) agonize over how we do (or don't) incorporate weight loss guidelines into our daily lives. "It's a lifestyle, not a diet" is easily and often said, but sometimes not so simply put into practice.
This is a thread for everyone. If you're new to GoaD, or to weight loss, your questions and comments are always welcome. If you're maintaining, or a long-term loser, your thoughts on the topic may be just what someone else needs to hear. If you're reading this, join in the discussion!
Each weekday, a new topic is offered up for discussion. Thread starters for July
Monday - whathapnd (Emmie)
Tuesday - 88olds (George)
Wednesday -Imastar2 (Derrick)
Thursday -
Friday -Al_Howard
Today's Topic
1. July 4th How did you do today with the BBQ or grill plans.
2. July marks the beginning of the second half of the calendar year if your following that schedule. Any mid year plans, changes or correction you'd care to share.

1.Kinda of late posting but I didn't remember till late this evening. I still have yet to track for today but most likely have blown right by my caloric goal. At least I'm trying to be mindful of everything that goes in my mouth and tracking good or bad over or not.
2. Mid year corrections would be yes. A. Concentrate more on each meal caloric wise. B. get my daily goals back in line so then my weekly, monthly goal will fall in line as well.

So the scale was kind to me this morning, actually about .3 lower than yesterday. Overall I did pretty good yesterday, concentrating on 0 point foods till the party started, actually the meal at the party was a good choice as well, Salmon, Corn on the cob, and lo point baked beans. Way too much wine though, not even sure how many glasses I had although I did do wine spritzers to try and cut back on the alchohol.0

1. My only plans yesterday were to tackle weeding my flower beds in the front. I managed to last in the heat and humidity for ~75 minutes. They do look better but I need cooler weather to really finish up the work that remains. Our heat indexes were 100+, again. Today should be the last of this misery as a cold front is coming through tonight. I spent the rest of the day inside (A/C!!) and caught up on personal paperwork.
2. As for mid year corrections, I'm in a stable place with my weight. I would like to break the 5,000 mile mark on my bike. I've got 2,280 miles in so far and a bunch more long rides coming up in the next 3 months. I haven't run since April due to issues with my knee. It is possible I may never run again but that is okay since I like to hike and bike! Speaking of hiking, I'd like to get past the 400 mile mark for the Ice Age Trail. My cumulative distance is 342 miles.

1) I left the potluck I was at without eating a bite. It helped that I wasn’t hungry. Germaphobe rules.
2) My big fall project is to quit taking meds to sleep. I hope my weight doesn’t enter into it.
But I know my brain can twist things around to make eating the answer to a lot of life’s difficulties.0
