Anyone ever use mariamindbodyhealth.com as a keto resource? I've been skimming through some of the content, but was wondering about some of the advise I've seen. Specifically this page talking about a Protein Sparing Modified Fast: http://mariamindbodyhealth.com/protein-sparing-modified-fast-cookbook/
In the example they post there outlining their recommendations, they mention a 170 lb women with 38% body fat having about 860 calories/day, even a couple times a week. I was under the impression 1200 calories/day is minimum that is safe. Am I missing something here?

Everything old is new again. It's not much different than the old Stillman Diet. It just has "new science" to cause it to appeal to a new generation with a new mindset.
I think I'll go crawl in a hole somewhere for a while. Wake this old gal when this protein fad is over. Rapid weight loss means nothing if you gain it all back and lose your hair in the process. SMH.1 -
I don’t know the website, but PSMF is a Lyle McDonald classic and pretty much the Cleveland Clinic diet for heart patients, too (I think). It is not meant to be a way of eating, it’s a booster. I did it for a month or so last year and have been thinking about doing it again to break a plateau. It works. 1200 calories is really arbitrary- the food companies cane up with all these numbers and pyramids for their bottom line - not for ours.0

Most of what I see for heart patients at the Cleveland Clinic is a PLANT based diet. Though with all things, there might be something otherwise. Here is one example of Cleveland Clinic Heart Disease Reversal:

Not exactly the point of my post, of the OP’s.
In case you’re WORRIED heart patients might be swayed by what random posters say on a website for fat people. I’m pretty sure they’d follow their cardiac specialist’s instructions.
