Hope everybody is doing well. Quiet on the board lately with warmer weather for a lot of us.
Been busy here with trying to spend as much time outdoors as possible!
Light day for me today and Thursday. Looking forward to the Chili Lime chicken burger I am about to have for lunch. Thanks to Trader Joe's LOL.
    See you soon. :)

Yum Meghan! Wish we had a Trader Joe’s... you mentioned other goodies from there before! Thanks for this weeks start... I hope to have a real positive week this week even though I’ve already been terrible naughty!

I’ve been glued to the news about those boys in Thailand! Omg!!! 8 rescued now. Hopefully they’ll be all out by tomorrow morning.

Fast day tomorrow, but I’ll be using my timer for the other days to keep in a 16:8 feeding window. Anyone else doing this?

@orlcam really loving the summer photo!! Thanks for that!

    Hope everyone is well....

I hit a big ol' brick wall and yesterday when I stepped on the scale! Not only was it up, and a personal high, but I am within a pound of being at a number that I *swore* I would never get even remotely close to! So, THAT was a big wakeup call. I am fasting today, and I am changing my inner monologue. I am not going to "try to" lose weight, I *am* losing weight! Going back to school, having a family, working (even though I am off for the summer), and life in general have been getting to me. I am going to take some deep breaths and relax and move forward.

    @Meghan509 That burger sounds yummy!

@mamainthekitchen You WILL have a great week!

@orlcam I love the beach picture!

To all the lurkers: Hi! Happy fasting!

Hey everyone...thank you for the comments.

I'm still lurking around. I recently hit a goal I've been working towards...over 100 lbs lost from my heaviest. Still have a way to go though.

Currently on a 2 day fast...sitting at about 38 hours right now.

Congrats to everyone for staying connected and keeping at it. Don't let that scale control you...it is just a gauge, and a very suspect one at that. Too many things can change your situation to erroneously show that you've gained or lost. We've beaten this subject to death, but we still let it F with us. I've taken to weighing myself at the end of a fast. It is the most similar time/situation as far as our bodies go...every other scale reading has too many variables in play to hold much relevance.

    Good luck...have a great week,
    Rus

@mamainthekitchen I've been doing that as well...I find I'm usually keeping my eating within a 4 hour window with a few almonds or pecans here and there throughout the day. Still doing keto and long fasts as well (when I can).

    Hi gang!
Tried to pop in earlier today but it has been one of those days. UGH!
Today started out by finding out my debit card got compromised... Had to call the bank and report it. They do their investigation, etc. Hope my $300+ finds its way back in to my account quickly. Now I wait for a new card to come. Sigh...
My week is going well eating wise. I had a good light day yesterday. Made one of our favorite recipes for light day dinners this week! Helps to have something to look forward to eating, vs. something to groan about. LOL That was last week. Made a nice vegetable soup for light day dinner and it was 8 servings. So we ate it two weeks in a row for those dinners. By the second week I was totally over it. :(
Got to the gym yesterday and rode the bike. Tonight I am hoping a treadmill is free. Mondays seem to be a little busier at our gym, even during the slow summer.

@mamainthekitchen Yes, you are going to have a good week! You got this! I wish you guys had TJ's too! I don't know why they don't think about expanding to Canada - you all are so close!

@KateNkognito sorry to hear about your tough weigh in. Sometimes that is what we need to get us back on track and focused on our goals. You can do it. <3 We are here for you!!

@orlcam nice to see you! Yes, love the new pic as well! Wishing I was on that beach right now. LOL Hope your fast goes well! I liked doing 16:8 IF's a lot and I am thinking that I might get back to it more often now that things have been so slow. Totally agree with you on the scale. I do once a week on Fridays, after two light days have been completed. Last Friday I didn't weigh because of the holiday on Wednesday and I knew my eating wasn't the best. Why stress. Pick up and move on to the next week!

Hellos to the others who are reading and lurking. :)

See you guys soon. Have a nice night!

@KateNkognito try weighing once a month. Use a flexible measuring tape! I weigh once a year otherwise I’m always on it! Besides so many factors go in to why your weight fluctuates... ie sodium. If I was to buy a scale now I would download that app called happy scale that smooths out your natural pattern.

Thanks for the info @orlcam! I’m very intrigued by Keto, but love to eat more fruits and veggies than that style of eating allows. Overall, I do eat very low starchy carbs, I just worry about too much fat... Sugar is still a big part of my life, maybe it always will be, but I know sugar and fats together equals disaster. Loving this new app for my phone I’ve mentioned before... “zero” that records my 16hours of fasting time... shorter or longer if you want. It’s just nice to see the time clicking away when I check it... it’s new, so fun encouragement for free!!

Meghan! That’s terrible about your card! I had that happen once... good luck on resolving that!! Geez!

I’ve had two good walks today and fasting right until dinner today, except I have no idea what to make for dinner... the hubs, son & daughter will have their opinions I’m sure!!!

    Have a great day people!

Hey all! It is going well this week. :) I am on a roll!
I found a new favorite convenience food! Barilla Ready Pasta rotini. The package says ready in 60 seconds, but I like mine cooked a little bit more, so I add another 30 seconds. Two cups in a bag at 210 calories per cup. It is super filling! I didn't finish the last few bites tonight.

@Meghan509 Thanks! It really is the kick in the pants that I need!

@mamainthekitchen It wasn't a little jump up on the scale... it was almost 7 pounds. :o

Off to do some homework. I live such a wild life!

    Hi guys!

Sounds like we are rolling right along this week and everybody is doing well. I like it!

I have been trying to keep better track of my calories on regular days because I admit I had been getting lazy at times. Been in a bit of a slump since the trips I had taken in May and June.

It helps to follow the program if you want to see results. Sometimes I need a little reminder of that! You can't be dissapointed unless you really tried and I can say the last few weeks I have been lazy. The weight didn't come on overnight and it won't come off overnight. :( Although I will vent for a minute on how much easier it was to lose weight in my 20's, vs. now in my 40's. *sigh*

Good luck on your fasts @mamainthekitchen I have heard good things about the OMAD / One Meal A Day plan which is kinda what you are doing if you are going all the way until dinner.

@KateNkognito Ugh regarding your weight gain. I hear you there. I am up a little less than six pounds from my all time low of 164 before I left for my vacation in early May. For some reason my body loves 170. Gained while on vacation, then three to four weeks later had another trip and hadn't recovered from the first one. My clothes still fit fine so that's good, but I need to get serious and get this last bit of weight off. That pasta sounds good! I will check it out sometime.

Wrapping up here with my normal day and tomorrow is a light one. Is it Friday yet?

    See you all soon!

It is a busy day here! I haven't really gotten done what I set out to do, but I got a lot of stuff done that I needed to do. I will call that a win! I hope everyone is having a good day! :) Tomorrow I will fast again.

@Meghan509 It can't be Friday yet! I have stuff to do still! I have a goal weight in mind (the very top of my healthy BMI range), but I will see what I am comfortable with when I get close. If an extra 5 (or 10) pounds works for me, I am not going to fight it. I want to a) be healthy, b) look decent, and c) be HAPPY.

I hope everyone has a great rest of the week! Happy fasting!

Kate! You’re still doing school in the summer?? Well good on ya girl!

Ended up having an easy rotisserie chicken last night, pasta for others and salad for me. I didn’t measure or log very well, but it did feel light and not heavy on the tummy. Today I went for brunch with my folks, Waffle Wednesday according to my dad!! So off to the iHop we went... had one Belgian waffle with butter & syrup(first time in years I’ve had a waffle) it was delish! But sooooo filling! I was so full from that, i came home and took my dog out for walk & still didn’t feel hungry, so for dinner the daughter was working, the son& hubs had premade dinners from the freezer and I ....had a full bottle of kombucha! A gingerade kombucha.... in a wine glass! It was all I wanted!! So I’ve back tracked my fasting timer to start after my lunch today and when I eat tomorrow it’ll be probably over 20 hours! We’ll see... I do feel a bit hungry now, but I’ve brushed my teeth and I actually like going to bed feeling a little hungry. So another really good fast! Wheew!! Perhaps I really did find my mojo while cleaning last week!!!

Oh, and Meg, yes it was pretty easy to watch our weight while in our 20’s, but good for you do be doing this now while in your 40’s... because I’m 58 and it’s really tough now!! Although I never needed to lose weight until I turned 50! But what I didn’t realize was that you naturally gain about 3 lbs /year after age 48 or so, so that’s a total of 30 lbs of unsuspecting weight gain... surprise! So you are well on your way to looking fabulous when you’re my age!! Woohoo!

Tomorrow’s Thursday, a long walk by the beach is my morning plan!! Hope fasting goes well for who ever is doing one tomorrow!

Yesterday's fast died before it was even born. Random wrong number call at 4 a.m. and I never got back to sleep. Tired, hungry, and busy do not make for a fast day. So, I am fasting today, instead.

@mamainthekitchen Good for you, finding your mojo! And I absolutely agree about weight loss being SO much easier when I was younger! I am in a program that gets you a teaching degree in two years, while you work as a paraprofessional (teacher's aid), but it means you take summer classes. I hope you enjoyed your walk on the beach yesterday!

To everyone: Have a great Friday! Enjoy your weekend!

    Hi gals!

No loss for me, but I am not sweating it. That lovely time of the month is just around the corner. ;) I had a great week and I am happy that my guy (yes, we are still doing this together) lost over four pounds this week!! He said he had been lax about logging everything in lately, and the scale was not being kind. This week he buckled down and had success! Need to keep it rolling!

@mamainthekitchen Congrats on that fasting! I need to try that soon. I think that will help get me to my goals. Just have to try it...
Yes, I agree with you on weight loss goals. For me the top end should be 145 via my 5 foot 4 inch height, but I think I can get away with more if needed because I have a decent amount of muscle.
Awww, thanks! I hope to be a hot mama like you when I am 58! LOL Yes, I am glad I am doing this in my 40's because I see my Mom in her 70's and she is very obese and has bad joints, etc. If I didn't get serious, that would be me. Love sweets and being lazy and so does my Mom. *sigh*

@KateNkognito so sorry to hear about that call at 4:00am. That is crappy. When the phone rings at that hour it can't be anything good and then when you can't get back to sleep UGH... Happens to me if I have to hit the bathroom in the middle of the night - not so easy to fall back asleep sometimes. :( Lately I have been reading a lot of thriller and mystery novels so if the phone were to ring at 4:00am now, I might be a little scared! LOL
Hope today goes well. That is so cool about your program for your teaching degree!

Have a great rest of your Friday! I wiill plan on popping in over the weekend, but in case I don't have a good one and see you guys soon!

Yesterday's fast was shockingly easy! I was busy and didn't get hungry until right before bedtime. Going to be another busy day, so I better get to it! Have a great day!
    @Meghan509 Congrats to your fella!

WOO HOO!!! FIVE pounds down! I know that at least 75% of that is water, and, given my current hormonal climate, I might see a gain next week, but I REALLY needed a spectacular loss like that. God is good!

Super news for you Kate! Congrats to you!! Maybe that stupid phone call kicked your system in gear, haha... :D

Had to chuckle over your fella Meghan... “he knuckled down, logged and then had a loss”.... seems straight forward enough! Why is it so hard some days then!

I’ve had a few great days but not feeling lighter yet. Not sure if this 16 hrs of fasting works for my body, but it is a bit more fun to follow this... like a competition with myself. I’ll continue this for now. Not much else to say, it’s very hot today! I enjoyed hosing our deck off just to get my feet wet!! My two walks are done and I’m in need of a shower!

    Happy Sunday!
