@anaconda469 , Our sunsets look like that too from the smoke haze! We hit 97* without a breeze & it felt stifling!
Got in another 2 miles from mowing & watering all my garden, flowers, grass & sod ALL day then I rode my ex bike for 12.5 miles.

Yesterday my town held a 2.5 mile fun run. I was the oldest runner by a lot. Managed an 11 minute pace which I thought was pretty good. The winner was a teen aged boy who ran a 5 minute pace. It was high 80's -not nearly as hot as some of you but still pretty hot! I'm at 28/75.
@kar328 - we have lots of foxes here. The population has exploded since the hurricane in 2012, not sure why, but we see them so often they're not really afraid of humans anymore. Disturbing to come across one when I run and it won't even move.1 -
@Janet - 5 minute pace is screaming fast. At my best I had a 6 minute pace. Now I have a 20 minute pace. I think your 11 minute pace is pretty dang good. Two thumbs up.0

Thankfully I am not dealing with any forest fires here in Ohio, but the humidity level is brutal. My last couple of walks along the bike trail almost felt like walking in the rain. I'm not breaking any speed records here, but I have found time to keep moving right along.
Added another 13.75 miles in the last 3 days for an August total of 32 miles.

Took advantage of a cloudy, drizzly day to get in my 10 mile long run. Much better to run in the rain than in the heat! 42/75 for me.1 -

@taxmom: With you on the humidity. I just water my plants and break out in a full sweat.
Our deer are so tame that I can reach out and just about touch them, No fear of me or my dogs.
I am running into lots of coyotes not only on trail runs but even in my neighborhood.
