We meet here to explore, share, celebrate, and (sometimes) agonize over how we do (or don't) incorporate weight loss guidelines into our daily lives. "It's a lifestyle, not a diet" is easily and often said, but sometimes not so simply put into practice.

This is a thread for everyone. If you're new to GoaD, or to weight loss, your questions and comments are always welcome. If you're maintaining, or a long-term loser, your thoughts on the topic may be just what someone else needs to hear. If you're reading this, join in the discussion!

Each weekday, a new topic is offered up for discussion. Thread starters for August are:

Monday - Imastar2 (Derrick)
Tuesday - Jerdtrmndone (Jerry)
Wednesday - minimyzeme (Kim)
Thursday - goldenfrisbee (Chris)
Friday - misterhub (Greg)

Today's topic:: Obviously today is Monday. Monday is after the weekend so:
Question Topic
Do you treat your food consumption or any mental aspect of it since it's Monday any differently than any other day of the week.?
If so feel free to expand on why Monday is different

Monday makes me think about how I did on weekends. Too late to change but look ahead to next three days before WI.

All days are pretty much the same to me. I did note that I have to get to Trader Joe's very soon to restock. I had to work both days this weekend so am a little behind on food prep.

Absolutely! I look at how much I went up over the weekend (I always do), and see how much I need to "beat back" the scale. Monday through Wednesday are pretty good on SPs and accompanying weight loss, but, it seems that Thursday is a struggle. Guess looking for the weekend syndrome, as Friday is weigh-in.
Short answer is Monday is "get back on the horse" day.

My Mondays are usually a new beginning for the week whether a loss or a gain. I see it as the beginning of the week much as work is. Don't dwell on it but mentally I just feel like it's time to get going and concentrate on the week ahead. Mentally it's a new start all around.

I do. Monday is usually a "back-to-routine" day for me. For a variety of reasons, Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday are more relaxed food days for me. When Monday rolls around, I go back to a more restricted approach.

Yup, Monday is a new beginning. Sometimes it looks way different than the weekend and other weeks, not so much. The biggest factors are alcohol and lack of routine on the weekend. This weekend was too busy to deviate much from the norm, so it's not a struggle, some Mondays are brutal!

I treat most days the same. But, if I treated Monday differently, it would be along the lines "back to it," "new beginning," which were mentioned previously.

    I’m retired. Everyday is Saturday.

So my issue isn’t day of the week, it’s in or out of our condo. Rattling around indoors is a challenge regardless of which day of the week it is.

Agreed, but Friday is my weigh-in. ;)

Mondays aren't any different for me. The only way WW works for me is to treat each day the same. It doesn't mean I'm a saint every day; just that weekdays and weekends are each a clean slate to do with them what I may.
