Watched the new fat emperor vid on you tube. Not once, but twice in the vid he mentioned cholesterol as a risk factor for heart disease. What gives?

With his mention of cholesterol, on both occasions what he was explaining was that while high cholesterol has been (and/or is) considered a risk factor for heart attack, high cholesterol increases risk only 1.5 to 2 times which is significantly less than the exponential increase of a high calcium score. So his point remains the importance of getting the calcium scan versus the current emphasis on cholesterol.
At least that is what I heard. He later made the similar parallel with smokers with low calcium score and their LOW risk of a heart attack when compared to a non smoker who has a high calcium score. The high calcium score being the driver of the predictability of a heart attack. More so than smoking.
It is all an emphasis on getting a calcium scan because he sees it as the best predictor of the likelihood if a heart attack. More so than blood pressure, cholesterol or smoking.3 -
I finally saw part 2 and it made more sense.1
