Fantasies (Food)

Friday night I had an MRI AT 9:00 PM. For my twenty minutes in the MRI I drifted off to think about what I would like to eat on the way home.

I thought of McDonalds and ice cream. I knew it would be near 10 PM, not really hungry but just upset getting an MRI was causing me to eat for stress.

I went home and ate a bowl of SF peaches, SF Cool Whip and granola. I
PRE WW I would have stopped at Mickey Dee’s with a quarter pounder, large fries and a Diet Coke. That was my Go To fast food normal meal.

Now I keep seeing Arby’s commercials HUGE sandwiches! I hardly ever have eaten at Arby’s in my life! I keep wondering what it would really look like IRL?

Any other fantasies on your mind? Keep it clean LoL!

Part of being at Goal keeps me thinking I’m “entitled” to eat some treats after all my work. Problem is I know the price.

I have been below GW (March) and Lifetime ((May) and I have kept a 3# cushion below GW.
The desire to eat what I want is still here.
But I know I think that Arby’s would be a huge disappointment.

@jimb376mfp on eating the peaches and not McD's. I probably would have stopped at McD's.

@Jimb376mfp , I hope the MRI results are in your favor. As for the foodlust, I think the key line / lesson for me is what I bolded, except in my opinion, that's not the problem, it's the saving grace.

Foodlust might mess with our heads, but it doesn't make us fat. Good for you for pulling yourself off the ledge and continuing on your way at or under your goal weight. One day at a time, and you'll be just fine! Hang in there my friend!

    “know the price”

Great point. Suddenly find myself thinking about redoing my kitchen. This was early 2006, height of house madness.

The bank had given the green light. They guy was there in the kitchen. Open this up...beam over there...recessed lighting...under cabinet...cherry ...granite...appliance here, appliance there, $3000 this, $8000 that. I’d bought houses for less than this kitchen was going to cost.

All with the stroke of a pen. Unreality.

The real world however, includes this- Newton's third law is: For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.

I get MRI results Tuesday to diagnose nerve damage causing my leg problem. I have been trying to address PT to an old knee repair on torn meniscus. Now know it’s nerves from lower back down my leg, not my knee.

@jimb376mfp I hope they get the nerve pain diagnosis straightened out quickly. I have been fighting this for 3 years. After a year I moved to a pain management specialist who found an approach that has helped quite a bit now though things were dicey at Christmas. Besides relearning posture, walking and building strength and flexibility I learned to used mindfulness early on to keep from getting caught up in the nerve pain reaction when things were brutal.

I used to have to get epidurals and similar procedures to control nerve pain. I always told the son who took me that I would want a burger ASAP upon picking me up, usually McDonalds (Big Mac/Fries/Diet Coke). One day I told him that I wanted a real burger so he took me to a Chili's inside a Mall near the surgicenter. I realized when I got home that I still had my little no-slip socks they put on your feet and along with my sandals. We don't do that in California. The next day I asked him if he let me walk thru the Mall like that. His comment was "You seemed happy still on your drugs, so why not?". A chip of the old block.

Lately I've been eating fantasy foods hence gaining about 45 lbs. Instead of fantasy foods it's real and turned into a nightmare not a fantasy. Time to wake up from this nightmare and get back on the program. :)

    CW 340.4😀
    Next GW 300.0
    Final GW 185.0
