ok I am new to low carb, thinking about what I will eat when cold weather comes, just realized beans have a lot of carbs.

Meat and salads, cheddar cheese. Maybe some chili without beans? what other warm food is low carb? I am down 17 lbs and have another 17 to go so don't want to mess this up.

Pot Roast, skip the potatoes if they don't fit your carbs. Eat more cabbage.
Roasted Chicken, skip the mashed potatoes and gravy if they don't fit your carbs.
Eggs and bacon are enjoyable to many as an quick easy dinner.
Any kind of meat and vegetable stir fry over cauliflower rice (or regular rice if it fits your carbs).

Your threads have always (I think) indicated low carb versus keto. I recall you previously mentioned eating around 100 carbs. Honestly, nearly anything can fit into a low carb diet...just not a lot of it...every day.

If you're able to moderate all foods you could eat anything. Personally, I have to keep my house/home meals/snacks clear of cookies, cakes, candy, ice cream, Fritos, Cheetos, Doritos, etc. or I overeat them. I enjoy them occasionally on special occasion when outside the home.

A measured portion of pasta is "only" ~40 carbs. It's a pretty small amount by most people's standards but it certainly is less than 100 grams of carbs. It's all about planning your day and adhering to it. A small Wendy's Chili is only 16 total carbs and 170 calories per their website.

Whether I've focused on fat, carbs or calories, I've had to learn to eat less of most everything than when I was gaining. It's a bummer but I eventually learned what a "reasonable portion" is and it is nearly not as much as I'd like. ;) I'm an overeater.

yes kpk thanks, I am trying reasonable portions and trying to not emotionally eat, watched a hypnosis weight loss on sabotaging myself on web and it was good. Trying to ask myself if I am hungry or frustrated, sad, etc. Thanks for wendys chili, that sounds good.

Real chili doesn't have beans anyway...according to my friends from texas...so if you want recipe ideas look for "texas chili" and it probably won't have beans

I also like to make pasta e fagioli - just going lighter on the pasta/beans and heavier on the broth and extra veggies like spinach and zucchini and onion and such...and soup that also includes cheese is a win in my book.

I also love using my crock pot in the winter, so a google search of low carb slow cooker meals is always good for inspiration.

If you make a pasta sauce and just add more meat, and chunkier low carb veggies - you get an easy and yummy 'stew'. I often eat that for dinner while my hubby tops off a baked potato or regular pasta with it.

CHILI is sooooo yummy when the cooler weather comes, and who says you can't have beans in your chili? I don't remember who it was on here who posted about these beans when I was new to keto, but I've been soooo grateful ever since I had my first keto bowl of chili :)
