I read that anti-histamines block the production of hot flashes. I RAN for my bottle of Claritin!!!!

If that were true there would be a lot of women out there stocking up on them0

Actually, this intrigues me. I still have disrupted sleep, which I try to tolerate. But given the whole "full time job with responsibilities" thing, sometimes I give in. I have a few different options including xanax and some brand of sleeping pill which I loathe. BENADRYL works the best. Perhaps because it's an antihistamine?
Where'd you read that? I'd be curious to read more.1 -
Small studies have shown that a widely available antihistamine (cetirizine) might help some women with menopausal symptoms. At this stage, more research is needed to confirm this is a future treatment option.

I hate to jinx myself, but I think it's working! I'm sleeping much better at night plus I don't wake up several times a night with hot flashes.
Crazy, huh?1 -
