On my way...

I started Keto about 3 weeks ago mainly because I am sick and tired of being sick and tired. I did keto a couple of years ago and lost 22 lbs. We moved to a new state last year and I regained all I had lost and then some. I was sad and depressed about what I had done.

I weighed myself the day after we got back after almost a month away. I gained even more and was puffy and stiff. No more, says I. I started making plans. It's been three weeks. I haven't weighed myself mainly because I'm weak and get demotivated easily. If I don't lose, I start attracting carbs. Before you know it I'm completely out of control.

So, why am I posting? I realized yesterday that I am no longer puffy. Most of the stiffness is gone. I feel so much better. I thought that I was getting arthritic, which would kind of be kind of normal at my age (70) but apparently not yet. Mostly I think that this may delay diabetes. I am a prediabetic and would really like to avoid that bullet.

So, I don't know if this is the right place to post this but I am so excited about the improvements I feel that I needed to shout it out.

Wonderful! Congrats on your NSV (non scale victory). :)

I started keto mainly due to my prediabetic status too. It worked! My blood glucose is quite steady now. You are on the right track in my opinion. If you want more information on keto for insulin resistance treatment, Dr Richard Bernstein has some great books, a helpful website and youtube videos.

@sschristy Keep up the good work! This forum is a great place to get motivated. You've worked the plan before so you know that it has worked for you in the past. Welcome aboard.

For me, I got a T2D diagnosis before I started keto. It has done wonders for my glucose levels, and I am off meds with a normal non-diabetic A1C.

    Stick with it!
