I see some folks reporting an "average" or "trend" weight - what's that? How do you calculate that? Is it from a different app?

I use a trend weight app, Libra to calculate my weight over time. There are others, Happy Scale is another. I also think some people do it manually and average it out, that's what I used to do before trend weight apps were a thing :)

Yup, I'm a Libra user. My settings are just the defaults right now for "smoothing." I've been using the app for awhile now, and it gives me a much better picture of where I'm headed than just a weigh in would. Plus, I can see and notice trends over time, and know what are things I maybe need to change or adjust, and other things that shouldn't freak me out.

Thanks! Since we're all ladies here - how does your period affect your trend? Does measuring trend smooth out monthly weight fluctuations, or can you still tell based on the graph when you have your period?

I also use Libra. I'm breastfeeding so I don't have a period right now though.

I have an IUD so no periods here, either, but I still end up with regular weight fluctuations - but if I zoom out, I can tell I'm headed in the right direction!
