A good week so far new TTD 18.8 miles1

Just finished my long run, which puts me at 27/75.
I'm running the NYC Marathon in a month. That will be me in a blue poncho walking sideways down the subway stairs LOL.
The other thing I remember about the NYC marathon was the woman who fastened the blue poncho on me. I remember how incredibly gentle she was, wrapping it all around me and snapping it in place, and how incredibly grateful I was to have her taking such good care of me. It still brings tears to my eyes. I wonder if the volunteers know what a difference they make to someone exhausted from running 26.2 miles?3 -

.. adding 3 miles ... slightly behind but hanging in there!
Janet: that video brings back so many memories - that was so me 4 years ago in Paris! I’m not too sure I would ever do the Paris marathon again - although having said that the bunch I did it with are talking about doing it again so I probably should not say never. I have dreams of doing NY someday! The fact that it is on in November kind of puts me off though as I keep thinking it might be too cold for me! Should probably try also to increase my mileage above a 10K run also ! Watched a half marathon today and felt a pang of jealously so maybe I am finally ready to start increasing the miles! Best of luck to you in your upcoming marathon!

Two hours in a dentist chair and coming home to a dog that got skunked right before heading into a 62 hour shift and I'm done. This is going to take a few days to recover.2

@belle_74 - I like having a race in front of me because it forces me to train, and because the races themselves are so much fun. I'm thinking about Rome. Has anyone here ever run that? I'd also like to do Tokyo sometime. New York in November isn't normally too bad, but you never know. Last year it was in the 60's. I do Disney every year and it's been anywhere from 32F to 80F so go figure.
@sufferlandrian - good grief! Good luck with your shift and here's wishing you a speedy recovery.0
