Good morning.
Happy October everybody!
@KateNkognito I agree with you about fall and a love for Thanksgiving! One of my favorite holidays too.
Hope everybody had a nice weekend. We were away for Saturday night with friends. Went to a different part of our state for some yummy seafood and had a lot of fun.
Planning to get to the gym each day this week and eat clean. May have a family function for Wednesday night so if that happens will try and make smart food choices but still enjoy myself.
Have a good one. See you soon.

My oh my! I’ve been MIA!!! I’ve only checked in long enough to not lose my streak! Been busy around here with the family... the usual really, daughter driving me cray cray and the son is not helping his health (new to diabetes) sleeps too late.. doesn’t exercise..etc.. he has appoint with specialists next week to learn how to deal with his new life!!
I love fall too and Friday is my bday!! Following day is parents anniversary the Sunday is our Canadian thanksgiving!! Yup! All in a row! I’ll be making a turkey dinner with all the trimmings but adding several low carb options for the son and others who like that (me & parents) I like to eat the same so he doesn’t feel left out and I’m liking cauliflower riced dishes that I serve him!
Cleaning up the garden this past weekend and at the parents house so lots of outdoor activity! Looking forward to buying myself a new pair of runners this week to get myself out walking again!! Also found a new podcast about the royal family that’s fun to listen to called On Heir.... more informative and not gossipy! I got tired of listening to diabetes/health ones... uggh! I’m needing to get out a walk my 10k steps again so I need good podcasts!
Housework then out with the dog today... same old same old day!
Have a great day everyone!3 -
Good morning everybody!
Back from my yearly physical appointment. Had my blood work done so we shall see. Blood pressure and EKG were normal.
Oh yeah good times. Hopped on the scale for the first time in a while and am up a bit from my low. Time to buckle down and get serious again.Weekends - that is my issue. Being too much of a piggy on the weekends derails the week. Always playing catch up when I should just be sticking to and losing. Sigh.
All I can do is brush myself off and get back fully on the wagon.
How are you guys doing?! Hi @mamainthekitchen nice to see you back. We have missed ya! I bet it is tough with so many different types of eating habits to content with at home. Hope you have a great birthday and a nice Thanksgiving! Don't want to forget to tell you that.
Got to run since it is a little busy here. See you guys soon!2 -
Good morning all.
We had quite a bit of rain and wind last night - also had some tornado warnings and bad storms in our area. But, happy to report that we still went to the gym.Had a good workout on the bike and ate clean all day.
Down 1.6 lbs from yesterday AM's weigh in. Inputted my "true" weight in to MFP. Time to get serious again and quit messing around.
We shall see what today brings. Might be going to dinner with family tonight. Not sure yet. If we don't then regular day it is - clean eating and a workout tonight at the gym.
Hope you have a great day. See you soon.2 -
Good morning everybody,
Hope you all are doing well. I had a low key yesterday where I stuck to my calorie goals and went to the gym. No family dinner out and about, last night so stuck to what we had at the house for dinner. Had a good workout on the exercise bike. Planning for same today.
Off to have a little oatmeal. Have a great day all!0 -
Checking back in after a looooong absense. Decided to take summer off because I wanted a break. It was tough managing the logging and exercise when the kidlett was home. Turned out not to be the best strategy. Incurred some collateral damage from it (up 15 lbs.).
Thankful the damage wasn't quite as bad as I thought it was going to be.
Been back at 5:2 since my son went back to school mid-August but between DS's birthday, some dear friends visiting, and putting some muscle back on at the gym, I haven't made much forward progress. Looking forward to the fall and all the good it will bring.
Oh, and, confession time, I have been lurking on this board. So thankful that @meghan509 has kept things going. My plan is to stay connected to you guys. It does make a difference in my life!

Woo hoo! Welcome back @jknight001
Good for you. I hear you about a break. Kinda been on one myself. The last few months have been hard. Tough to get to the gym when it is summer and that time is so short here. Have to get outdoors while we can. Then you have the vacations, get togethers, and the oh yeah let's have it even though it is not so good for us type of things.
I am up around 15 pounds as well, from my low back in early May. Went and updated my weight to be true to MFP and ultimately myself and have managed to drop a little this week. I will weigh tomorrow and will aim to go back to weighing in on each Friday morning.
Glad to hear you have been lurking!! I know what you mean about staying connected. Even when I was writing these posts and I wasn't getting a lot of feedback I still felt it helped me to be more accountable.
So here we are! We got this.1 -
Most miserable weight loss method: stomach bug. These kids share too darn much!
Glad to see a few folks back for the fall. Busy week, pretty good with the food and then today I had a snickerdoodle cookie and 6 chicken nuggets.
Freaking out a little that I have barely started on my homework. It is in two week modules, so I have until next Saturday, but still! I will be sitting at my computer with wholesome snacks for the weekend!2 -
Good morning all.
Ugh, so sorry to hear it @KateNkognito that is noooo fun!
Good luck with your home work. You got this!!
I am down another pound since Wednesday AM's weigh in. All in all not bad for the week. Down around three or so. I am thinking it could be some water weight. We were away for the weekend last weekend and I ate and drank wayyy more than I should have. In any case, hoping for a good week next week.
A happy birthday to @mamainthekitchen today! Also hope you have a lovely Thanksgiving.
I will plan on checking in over the weekend here and there.
Enjoy your Friday! See ya soon!

Ahhhhh thank you very much Meghan!!
I’ve been eating light (fish & salads) all week to make up for the meals this weekend... had brunch out today with my folks & hubby... brioche French toast! Omg... whipped butter and everything!! Just got back from a 3k walk with my brand new runners from the hubs!!! Sooo awesome! Nothing like new perfectly fitting runners to get you inspired to walk!! So grateful! Just waiting on the kids now....then heading out to dinner! Tomorrow the parents 66th anniversary! Lunch with them, then Sunday I’ll be in the kitchen cooking the turkey feast!!!!! You can bet I’ll be using my new runners on Monday! Ha!
Sorry to hear of the additional 15 lbs for you guys, I’m probably right up there with ya except I don’t weigh myself only measure... but I’m feeling it!
Glad your back at it @jknight001 I know it’s nice to take a break!! Let’s all get back at it together!
Kate - good luck with your assignment!! You got this!!!
Cheers people! Happy thanksgiving to all!1
