What are some of the methods you use besides substituting specific foods to help you achieve your desired results for weight management?

One of mine that has worked really well is not to gauge my success entirely on what the scale says. I pay close attention to the non-scale victories (NSVs) and when they show 'winning results', I'm a happy camper.

One of the things I learned that really helps me know came from Cindy (Mamacin) and some other lifetime at my monthly meeting. You learn you can eat smaller portions of things and be satisfied. Rather than just eating till you think you are satisfied you can eat portions of your more regular foods you know is typically enough and stop there. I have found this very helpful.

I have not been to a buffet in a long time but I used to find it effective to survey the entire buffet before starting to put items on my plate.

WW measuring spoons helped me with portion control. Simple trick early on was no serving dishes on the table. If you wanted more you had to get off your chair and go get it, rather than jus reaching for the bowl.

    Germaphobia.

Throwing food away. Even when I just paid for it.

Delay. I’m going to have my snack. But if I can put it off for awhile it lessens the likelihood of a 2nd snack before bedtime. Or even a 3rd.

Portion Control and low point foods even if I didn't think the taste was the greatest. I have learned to acquire a taste for certain foods that are healthy but maybe just not the greatest tasting always.
