Hey Tatum! I'm Ali, and I am sure I'm the O word too but I have a hard time saying it...maybe after I lose some more?..I'm at 206 now and I'm 5'2" , my biggest was 227!! I almost died! I lost 20 with the help of WW freestyle, but then plateaued and figured I try this and add.some.exercise, something I haven't done lately at all. Being a mom of a special needs teen (my heart and soul and happiness) is not great at having time to myself unless he's in school. Spool please.help! I know I'll like it once I start, my whole life I either danced or.ran or did both and weights....why is it so darn hard to get started.again?
Whew...sorry to run on like that...net you're sorry you invited.me now huh? Lol
Promise I'm super at motivating others just not myself!
Look forward to getting to know you better!
Hugs🌼

I'm 35 with a 3 year old boy and a 1 year old girl. I lost 70lbs in 2016 and then fell back into my old habits and gained most of it back, disgusting. I'll be updating my weight weekly on this other thread in this group.
It's nice to meet you Ali, I'm sure we can motivate each other.2 -
Nicole is my name in real life. I'm 38 a mum to 3 kids (7yrs, 5yrs and 3yrs) have lost a lot of weight since my oldest was born but the last 10kg won't budge. I have premature menopause as well as chronic asthma so the medication I take slows everything down. I also think I havent been as motivated as I could be. So prepared now to give it 100%. Very hard with all the symptoms and business of kids to take care of myself. But they deserve a healthy mum rather than a tired grumpy sick one. Don't know if I can shed the pounds its very hard.. but I'm aiming for healthy strong energised version of myself at least.1

Hello everyone, my name is Jason. I'm 40, married, father of three kids. I lost a significant amount of weight approximately 10-years ago, but have gained a portion of it back over the past 2-years. My starting weight was 270 lbs, current weight is 262 lbs, and goal weight is 200 lbs (I'm 6'3" and this is where I was before my weight gain). I don't only want to lose weight, but I want to get back into shape. I used to run regularly and completed 3 marathons and countless 5k, 10k, and half marathons. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone better. Thanks!1

Good morning, I don't usually eat breakfast and I sometimes just pack a salad for lunch. This morning I was in a rush and just had half a sandwich, and I'll skip lunch (hopefully my coworker brings in some jerky again). I think I will make a dozen hard boiled eggs and have them ready in the fridge for days like today. What do you guys do for lunches?1
-
From now on I'll start recording all my calories and have an open diary. Feel free to bust my balls when I am eating poorly.🙂1

After my experimenting i have found if i eat breakfast I am hungry all day.
I go as long as I can before breaking fast ... when I do i try to eat 1 ounce of nuts ... and make that last as long as I can before lunch.
Lunch is whatever is leftover from dinner.
Dinner is highly variable.0 -
Hi all... I'm Dave. 48 years old. A few years ago I lost 110 lbs, was cycling or running daily and felt the best I ever had. Then I fell off track and have gained almost all of it back. Today I'm 314lbs and wanting to get back to 220, which was a good weight for me at 6'2". Looking forward to getting to know you you all better!!2

Hi everyone, I'm Michelle. I'm currently 185 and want to get to 165. I'm not asking to be thin, just want to be back to size 12! I lost 50 pounds almost 4 years ago and felt amazing but have slowly regained 30. The story of so many of us! After lots of failed starts, I renewed my journey yesterday. For my 30 day detox I'm off sugar aside from fruit and will try to limit carbs as much as possible.
My husband supports me although my workplace is a danger zone with lots of temptation so I hope that we can all support each other in our goals. We can do it!!

Hello fellow groupies😋
I'm so happy to read everyone's story and really think.this is a.great place to.get.work done!👍 I'm really excited to be going on this journey with like minded folks like you who seem ready to get to it!💪 let's kick some fat! Lol I'm my case it is the butt...but ya know to each their own lol!
I think there is a lot to be said about eating when you're hungry not when your starving and not when you're not even interested in food...but it's also mindful that stuff like coffee and being busy can distract us while we really need fuel.
The hard boiled eggs, nuts etc are great ideas to have when you're not really hungry but know you should probably have something.
Just my opinion but as I just turned 50 last week I'm feeling very obi one😀
What are some things you like to eat when you are really hungry?
Hugs!😉🌼

On an unrelated topic, weed is going to be legal at 12:01am over here. It should be interesting.1

Are you in Canada? I'm in CA and this year pot became legal recreationally but it was legal medicinally before.
How was everyone's food journey today? My second day was not as hungry as yesterday.
Are there any pescatarians on here?0 -
Yeah, I live in northern Alberta.
Ali, you have such a positive aura about you, I like it.
Hi Michelle, yeah it's really nice when your partner supports you. Last time I lost weight, my wife and I were both counting calories. It made it so much easier to calculate meals.
Seems like there is a few of us that want to drop a substantial amount of weight. Share your secrets, I need all the help I can get.0 -

I cut up vegetables and snack on them mostly. But it's hard with the kids snacks.. guilty of eating their left overs. I think I have been blowing out on the snacks so I'm reigning it in now.
When I was begining the weightloss thing I was drinking blended soup which really helped. Just a low calorie blended spup with some lentils thrown in. I shouldd do this again.0 -

My husband is a pescaterian! He dropped a bucket load of weight this way and is very healthy. He had high blood pressure and a few other issues but the fish oils seemed to really help him! I'm a vegan.
My food day was good but im exhausted... too tired to exercise. It was just a long busy day with kids and I'm ready for bed at 5:00pm 🤣.. I have to get the motivation for exercise somehow..0 -

That sounds like a good plan to plan ahead! I tend to power through til the afternoon and then I give in to temptation 😂. Not the greatest at pre planning. I think eggs are a great source of protein and an awesome snack. I'm a vegan so I don't eat them but my kids love eggs. Not a strict vegan by any standard but around my food choices I tend to eat a plant based diet. I need to work out a plan. I might make up a soup to "snack" on during the day, something I can put in a thermos. I did this year's ago when I was very obese and soups really made me feel full. The feeling of fullness really prevented the over eating and helped me stay on track. As you get closer to your goal weight it gets harder and harder as your calories need to slim down along with you (I'm in a plateau right now), so I'm finding that I have to change things a bit. I always eat breakfast or I'm cranky not nice to be around.
I have salad for lunch with some protein most days. Sometimes it's soup. I've lost 40kg through weight watchers. I'm just on the last 10kg which doesn't want to budge. Best advice I was told was to make sure you do eat.0 -

I love running as well! I'm chronic asthmatic so it's a bit pathetic watching me run.. i don't run when I'm sick obviously! but as I loose weight and get stronger I'm getting fitter and healthier and its getting easier. Dosent feel like my lungs are on fire anymore if that makes sense. I can only do 3 or 5k runs right now. My fitness goal is to do a 10k run in March next year for a cause close to my heart. Husband has M.S. I felt so ashamed this year that I couldn't run for it (wasn't fit enough) and it has affected us so much. My friend ran instead.. she's a good mate but I still wished I could have.
Wow! Marathon sounds impressive! Will have to probe you abput your running tips!! What's your plan with the running? Walking first to get back in it or cross training?

Hello, I started on my diet plan two days ago but have been struggling years before. I was in the hospital last week and diagnosed with gerd/lpr both. I started at 300 lbs (well I like the kgs better lol). After being really sick, lost some in the hospital and am now facing some critical health issues if I don't lose. So the start weight is officially 287 from Monday and going from there. My diet is Dr supervised specifically for LPR sufferers at risk for Barret's esophogus and throat cancer. I have never smoked but they believe the constant years of gerd has done damage to my throat. My diet is close to Koufmans acid free diet. I take meds with my food and only drink alkaline water now to keep cancer cells in throat dead. I can't exercise much yet but am told by doc that in a couple weeks, should be able to breath much better and can walk further then my normal walks without having breathing episodes. Also told that if I stay strictly on this, it should heal the throat in a few months. Then it's just making sure to stay this way for life without any problems returning. So this diet is a life diet and the side bonus is weight loss.
I am actually feeling a bit better after only a few days and eating with less discomfort.
I live in the Binghamton, NY area with beloved hubby and two kids; 18 year old daughter starting college in vet science and 21 year old son working with my husband at our local plant (different depts). I am starting to go back to school in January and also starting a part time clerical job. Love this time of year here and trying hard to get out with family for all the events going on for the season.
Would love to be part of the group dedicated to this goal and be consistent with weigh ins, etc. I am on 1200 cals roughly with my limits. In it for the weight loss but actually ok going for the next couple years steady learning a new way to eat and live healthy for my health and my family.1 -
Well, we have 10 members now. Should I cancel the other invitations or leave them? I do better in small groups because I like to get to know people, it's hard when there is a lot of members. But we all have equal say. Any ideas?0
-
I would appreciate if alliebabe8035 could still join.0
-
I sent an invite. Also, any thoughts on a new name? I really don't like it, I'm just not very witty.0
-
The Dedicated 12? Jk1
-
I think 10 or 12 is ok and I would say that people have to be somewhat active on the group though.0
-
I like the name. 😊0
-
My 2 cents...I think the name is good...we are dedicated and it reminds me of a movie title👍😎 but I have no prob with more folks...maybe if you can cap. at 15? Some folks will not be as active so it will most likely not get overwhelming😉w
Hugs and happy Thursday you magnificent 7.....er....wrong movie whoops!😋1
