Well, here I go up from 130. Not gonna let that happen! Sarah, I think you're right about all of us needing to set some goals. I counted a little over 7 weeks until the end of the year. I believe I can set a realistic goal to lose 5 pounds by Jan 1. (My body will let go of a little over a half pound per week, I know from past experience.) So, ladies my official goal is to get down to 126 by Jan 1.

Post your weight loss goals :)

I totally forgot to weigh this morning. Last night I had terrible episode of itching, burning and pain. I was almost ready to go to the ER, but didn't think they could help. So this morning my mind was on whether I should go to the doctor and which one. Hubby suggested my primary care physician and I was fortunate that they worked me in. She is running a number of blood tests, including re-doing some that have already been done, and she gave me a referral to a neurologist because she's concerned about the numb lips. She says he is very good with mysteries. Let's hope.

Tomorrow I have the environmental allergy tests but my gut says they won't show much. It has now been 2 months since I've had even a single day where I felt comfortable. Oddly, I had a few comfortable hours this past Saturday when I was visiting a place that someone with allergies would probably have some reactions, but that was a rare window of time.

I am so hoping that tonight is not a repeat of last night. I promise I'll weigh in tomorrow.

Thanks Sheesh for starting the thread and for your empathy and support. So needed now.

Lois and Kelly, hope to hear from you soon. I'm down but not out!

EEK getting closer and closer to that super yucky number, but anticipated with all of the eating out and snacking I've done. Had an amazing time with my daughter, Son and DIL, and of course Rhea. OMG I can't get enough of that poopalicious thing. I swear..you change her diaper and as soon as the clean one is under her, she pees and poops AGAIN...you don't even get to close it. I've even tried the putting the wipe on her belly and waiting a few minutes - nope...still happens. rub her belly, she coos, but nope. PUll out the old put in a new and BAM! she doesn't do it on the 2nd one so it's really bizarre. OH and I've tried to just close the first one after cleaning and nope nothing. anyway for a poopalicious little thing I sure am in love! Back to work to complete chaos (and I did work a little bit while I was out). We have two new communities opening next week and three new agents to train as soon as the purchasing team loads the community info, along with processing contracts, addenda and 8 hours of meetings a week. So yeah...fun times. I'm still exhausted. OH and my son thinks we're spoiling Rhea by holding her so much. He doesn't realize that she's crying and fussy because she still has gas and we're getting the bubbles out...but ok..oh sigh. Four weeks and spoiled...hhmmm anyhow, I don't get to see her until next weekend because they are going up north for the long weekend....waaaaahhh!!! ok..enough ranting on lacking of baby time this week. I do have an appt with the GI tomorrow for my tummy issues. Hoping she has some ideas for me to try.... Super exhausted from the week/weekend fun and long days at the office then go home and help mom with her stuff I've been in bed by 830 the past couple of nights. Finished off the last of the weekend food last night, so I need to figure out something for dinner tonight...
Report done running, I will check back and catch up - promise

Read it and weep! I'm up a pound since yesterday and I though yesterday was a fluke because I could hardly get my rings on.

Had a better night last night than the one before, but still a bad one. I have to soon get some relief. I was afraid to walk last night because I was not having many symptoms from the end of the work day until around 10 p.m. I was afraid doing anything might jinx that. But by midnight, I was sitting in a tub of water, which helps a little, just praying that I'd get enough relief to get some sleep.

This afternoon, I have the environment allergy tests and I intend to lasso a doc if I can to talk to her about this nighttime agony. (Nurses did my contact allergy tests and I didn't see a doc that time.) I am becoming much more assertive and my pride is gone!

Hope you get good news from the GI, Lois, and Sheesh, the small increase is probably due to all the different environments you've been in over the past 2-3 weeks--3 different houses, hotels, and lots of car time. Things will soon settle out, and I hope the cold is very short lived.

Well, we're three for three with our weight going up. I hope Kelly has some success to report soon!

Awww! Baby time is so fun! But, tell your son that holding a 4 week old a lot DOES NOT "spoil them", lol. Your are way too busy Lois. . hope things settle down for you soon, and that the GI will help you.

Sarah, 2 months of this suffering is more than enough! I wonder if you could have shingles? Although, I think the doctors would have diagnosed that by now. It's so frustrating that you haven't gotten a diagnosis already. Let us know how it goes with the environmental allergy testing.

My Oregon daughter has been in town for an academic conference where she is presenting a paper. She's been staying downtown near the convention center and to be with her colleagues, but tonight she's coming home for a few days. (Leaving Sunday) I'm excited to spend some "girl time" with her and her sister, but it will likely mean more calories. Ah well.

My cold is much better, but still "there". Just taking vitamins for it now. I'll check back in a couple days.

OK...another quick check in.... super crazy - but in a great way.

Sarah - hoping your appt has some ideas if not answers. Prayers for your sister. I cannot believe all that she is having to endure. So sad.

Sheesh - LOVE spending time with my adult kids. They'are so much fun...and usually come with additional calories. UGH. With having the instant pot, I saw so many posts with regard to elderberry syrup and even my friends who are very homeopathic endorse the stuff. So I ordered some dried berries off of Amazon a month or so ago and made the syrup. It tastes ok and hubby and I have been taking it twice a day since Rhea has arrived... Hubby also swears by airborne but that and Vitamin C give me the shakes and makes my heart race. The elderberry syrup does not so I'm doing better with this. I think it's in the family of blueberries. I honestly don't know if it works or not, but an idea maybe?

GI dr. was a good experience. She has added Citrucell to my daily intake as well as removing lactose from my diet (honestly that's a tough one for me). She agreed that my regular meals and snacks provides enough fiber for a normal person, however, with my microbiomes out of whack she'd like me to really try. SHe's also requesting another stool sample (I really don't know if I can accomplish that one....horrible horrible experience) and a blood test for celiac (waste of a needle poke in my opinion as I don't believe I'm celiac whatever), but I wanted the advice of the dr. so I need to follow her requests as best as I am able. I will get to the lab next week. The weather has been gorgeous and I am really missing the trails. That's what I was thinking about as I left the house this am in the low 50's how wonderful it would be to go hiking. oh sigh.

MIL is here until Sunday and then back again mid-December for CHristmas/New Years. We have a TKD picnic on Saturday. Fortunately we're a mile from our house so I am somewhat close to a bathroom. I will take two immodium Friday night to help.

    Sept 27 - 158.2 (started Keto)
    Oct 29 - 153.4
    Today - 150.9

BOOM! There's a positive! Yay! Such positive results and super motivating that it makes it all worth the watching of the food I'm eating.

Sarah! OMG I feel for you girl! I sure hope the environmental testing results in some sort of answers! Good for you for being more assertive. There's no sense in holding back, especially when you're in pain. Good to hear you're still out walking though! BIG hugs!!!

Lois - That little one is sure adorable! I can tell you're just loving spending time with family. Don't forget about yourself while you're handing out all this love though. I know I'm bad for putting myself last when it comes to family but it's important to remember our health is the best present we can give our families. We got an instant pot recently and are still trying to figure it out lol Shawn is loving it for steamed vegetables for now.

Sheesh - Way to set your goals! For the past week, I've been hovering around that 150 mark and I just want to get into the 140's. I would really like to be 140 by the time we leave for our wedding in January. It should be attainable, but with Christmas in there I just really have to watch.

I'm at home working this week because our house is on the market! I know Sarah said she saw some pics on Facebook but here's the official link for our house - 66 Hawkwood Gate
We listed on Tuesday. We so far have had 3 showings from different realtors and have another 2 today and 1 tomorrow booked, plus an open house tomorrow. It's nerve wracking and exciting at the same time!

Ok that's it for now as I have to get back to work. I'll check back later.

Yah Kelly!! Great loss. And your house pics are lovely. I'm sure you'll sale quickly. Makes me happy to think about all the good things going on in your life.

I am allergic to nothing environmental. I had a very slight reaction to dogs, but nothing else. And I'm around other people's dogs all the time and have no symptoms. That's the good news. The bad news is that the allergist, who is also a researcher, said that some systemic diseases can manifest as itching and burning (I am enduring both now). She said essentially your body is saying, "something is wrong here." So more tests and exams to come.

Lois, I have exactly the same feeling about some of the tests I am going to have as you do about celiac. But through all this I am also telling myself that I can't go to doctors for help and then not do what they ask of me. Sounds like we're on the same page there. And giving up dairy would be hard for me too. I love milk, cheese, yogurt, sour cream, ice cream--you name it. But if someone told me that dairy is causing my problem, I'd drop it like a hot, hot rock.

Have fun with your daughters this weekend, Sheesh. I bet with more calories they also bring more movement. Sometimes my highest burns are those when I'm just out and about.

Ugh sorry to hear that nothing came back from the environmental tests Sarah! I was hoping it would have just been something easy. Has anyone suggested that you try the elimination diet? Might be worth a shot just to see if anything comes of it. It takes some time though.

I weighed again this morning and it was 150.1... sooo close to the 140's. I'm determined to get there!

Thanks for the kind comments about the house. I sure hope it's a fast sale so we can start packing a majority of our belongings. We've packed quite a bit already but decorative stuff we've had to hold off on because of the house showings. Doesn't look good to have an empty house. Plus having to keep the house insanely clean every day is becoming difficult. We're clean people but with 2 kids and a dog, it's constant vacuuming and re-tidying and trying not to cook smelly foods lol

Ok.. back to work I go. Enjoy your Saturday!

My prediction is that you hit the 140's by this time next week. I don't know about you, but when I see good progress, I get fired up and it helps me achieve more.

I am getting so frustrated at this "whatever" that is sapping my energy and making me want to just sit in case moving stirs up more symptoms. I like to get up and move! Arghhhh. Hubby says hang tight--they're going to figure it out. But this is a 3-day weekend and I wish like hell that I felt like doing stuff. We've been through the packing bit lately, too, for the kitchen remodel. And trying to find space to put all that stuff that we don't want several miles away in storage has gotten me motivated to let go of some things that I don't use but have hung on to. Would be a perfect day to start on an upstairs closet if I just felt a little better.

Oh well. The sun is shining. It's Saturday. And I do have a good book to finish. :)

What are you changing in your kitchen Sarah? New cabinets, new colors, new layout, new flooring?

It's pretty much a gut job, Kelly. When we bought the house in 1993, little had been done since it was built in 1972. Through the years, we painted the dark cabinets white and added trim, we replaced the countertop, and replaced the floors twice, but it was past time for better cabinets and solid countertops, and we wanted to do something more up-to-date with the walls. So we're getting custom cabinets (white again but far from builder grade), quartz countertops, and the bead board and chair rails are being replaced with some custom wainscoting.

Because part of the kitchen has concrete underneath, we decided to keep pretty much the same footprint so we wouldn't have to jackhammer through concrete to move water pipes. If it weren't for that, we would have taken more of the breakfast area as cooking space, but moving the pipes was going to be mega bucks. And it's almost mega bucks without doing that! We are still gaining about a foot more cooking space and more cabinets, so that's good. I'll post some photos once we're through.

I'm feeling bad about how few steps I'm getting. Hubby and I went out for a short time today, and it was so nice--sunny, only a little wind, and mid-40's. A perfect fall day to take a walk if only I could muster up the energy and weren't afraid of stirring up the pain or itching. Next specialist appointment is on Wednesday and I can't wait. I want my life back!

We did get out for awhile last night, too, to grab soup and salad with a small group of friends. It didn't do much for my activity level, but it was good for my spirits. I actually had a great chat with a guy who is much younger than me and who is into his Charge 3 fitbit and logging food on an app similar to myfitness pal. He started this to encourage his Mom (got her both items, too) who needs to lose weight because of bad knees. But now he has lost enough weight to need to get all his business suits tailored and so he's stoked!

Wow Kelly! Congratulations! Your Keto program is getting impressive results! Keep up the great work. . you'll be in the 140's before you know it. And good luck with your home sale.

I was hoping for an answer for you from the Environmental tests Sarah. Darn it! I'm sure the docs will get an answer eventually, but the suffering in the meantime . . All you can do is keep doing what they ask of you and keep yourself distracted. A good book and your kitchen remodel should help. ;)

Lois, the ND I saw told me that probably most humans would benefit from getting rid of dairy and grains in their diet. Ugh, that's hard. I'll be seeing her for the follow up apt this Wed. I'm wondering what she'll recommend for me. :| But, we want to live long and well to watch those grand babies grow!

We had a great weekend with both our daughters here. I made a nice halibut dinner on Friday, and my youngest daughter (lives here) brought her new boyfriend. Hubby and I are very pleased . . he's the best candidate we've met yet. . very personable, successful, and good looking. :) And, best of all, he seems to be crazy about her. He's been married before and has a 6 year old daughter, so that's a new thing for our girl, and she's not sure she wants to take that on. So, we'll see.

Well, we're home for only about 10 days, lol! Our entire family is traveling to Cali for Thanksgiving. And, DIL is chairman of the turkey trot race there on Thanksgiving morning. Everyone is running except grandma ( :# ) . . I'll be taking care of the baby. And, our son is pretty much in charge of the meal, so I'm sure he'll need lots of help.

I just can't catch a break for serious dieting and exercise. But, trainer tomorrow morning.
