Maintaining Weight

I'm not new to MyFitnessPal, but I'm new to this group. I've had a history of a weight problem. Most of my life I was overweight, until about 1999 when I came close to 200 lbs. Since then, I've been on a mission to get to a healthy weight and maintain it. My weight's been all over the scale, not necessarily from my diet. This morning I weighed in, on MY scale at 117 lbs, but yesterday at the doctor weighed close to 120. He feels I'm on the right track, however I feel I'm in danger of losing too much. I eat 3 meals and some snack items. I try to make it all healthy. I do an exercise routine 4 days a week right after breakfast. What is the professional take on all this?

Your doctor is the professional; do you have reason to not trust your doctor’s judgment?2

The difference from 120 to 117 is negligible - different scales, different clothes, different hydration levels, etc. You didn't mention how tall you are either. But your doctor is, by definition, a professional. Trust his/her judgment unless you have reason not to do so. Granted, some doctors don't understand when you have specific fitness/physique goals and if that is the case, take it with a grain of salt. But if he/she is concerned about your health as a result of your weight dropping too low, definitely give them a fair listen too.0
