As you are scheduling fitness activities into your week, here are the rules for logging activities to earn points in the challenge:
• Points will also be earned for exercise and will be added to your team’s total pounds lost. To qualify for exercise points you must log your activity into myfitnesspal website or smart phone app. You must log at least three days of exercise for at least 30 min per day to add 1 point for that week.
• Each additional day per week will add a half of a point to your weekly total.
• Bonus Point- Since someone could conceivably get 2 work outs in one day, yet when you log them the 2nd one will just add time/calories burned to the original activity post (giving you credit for only the one combined workout), we will have weekly bonus points for very active fitness participants to get extra points. If you log more than 300 minutes for the week you will receive one bonus point for activity.
• The team’s total number of exercise points will be added together and divided by the number of team members then added to the final total of average pounds lost.
• Here is a list of activities that will be added to give your team bonus points (running, walking, elliptical, yoga, zumba, dance or cardio classes, swimming, weight training, bike riding and aerobic workouts.)
• If you wear a tracking device such as a Fit Bit or Nike fuelband, the “passive activity” tracked from walking and moving all day does not count towards this challenge. Only “intentional logged work outs” count. If you have one of these devices they are a great tool to measure your personal activity and increased movement (challenge or not) is good for improved fitness.
• We will be using the honor system. It is important to log your activity accurately so that we can monitor and track weekly progress.
