Good morning and happy Monday Fasting friends!

Wow, can you believe that on Saturday of this week, we will be starting December!? Screams... Fortunately I don't have to buy a lot of gifts, so that makes it easier for me. Today is Cyber Monday too! Anybody buying anything fun?!

Hope those of you that were celebrating Thanksgiving last week in the US, had a lovely day. Mine was great. Smaller group of six adults and two kids. Lots of yummy food and laughs! We brought some Trivial Pursuit questions that were about the 80's, and they were a hit! Proud Generation X-er here. ;)

The food you guys mentioned in last week's thread sounded so yummy!!

I am planning to stick to my calorie limits and would like to head to the gym after work each night - my goals!

Have a great day and I'll "see" you all soon.

Been a couple of busy days, but that just means I don't have time to eat. :) I hope you all are having a wonderful week! Thanks @Meghan509 for starting us off every week!

Thanks Meghan! Glad you enjoyed your dinner, and I would have loved that game!!! :D Fun Times!!

It's a busy week again around here.... I'm not sure what the heck is up with that, as I'm not working and the hubs is now retired!! Why are we sooo busy! Gardening, laundry, scraping gutters, errands & dinner..... ahhh dinner ideas!! That alone takes me over an hour to figure out!

Loving a little salad dish I've been having lately... I cook chicken fillets in a little bit of balsamic salad dressing until chicken is cooked and my pan is ruined (kinda) then shred, pop 1/2 cup of frozen corn in the micro, add both to about 3 cups coleslaw from a bag and mix with mayo & sriracha and toss & toss & toss!! So Yum! I have this when the boys are having pasta~!

I made some basic chicken veg soup earlier today and since it was so cold & windy out I decided to add some crushed chipotle pepper flakes.... wowza!

    have a great week people!

Hi everybody! Had a great Thanksgiving week but ended it all by getting a cold. Haven't had the desire to log or to eat. Might hit the gym tomorrow and see if I can sweat out the virus.

    Hope to post more soon.

    Good morning fasting friends!

Amen @KateNkognito I know what you mean! Back at work means less time to think about food. LOL

Hey @mamainthekitchen for that chicken you put in your recipe (that sounds awesome btw!) why not cook it in a slow cooker, if you have one? Dump in a pound of boneless, skinless, breasts and about a cup of chicken broth per pound of chicken and put it on low for six hours. Open it up and shred it with two forks. Yum! You could also use a little balsamic or soy for a different flavor?

@jknight001 I hope you feel better. Colds are for the birds... :( If you don't feel up to food, maybe try some hot tea and water to help flush out all the yuckies! Hope you get well fast.

My week is going well. Met with a doctor yesterday to discuss all of the back pain I have been having. He thinks it is arthritis. I have arthritis in my genes unfortunately. I have to do some physical therapy that should help and I also have an appointment on Monday with a specialist to she what she suggests. They took x-rays and did blood work. Oh the joys of being in my mid-40's! :(

@Meghan509 My husband has arthritis and he takes glucosamine/chondroitin, astaxanthan, and Reinforce Bone Formula. He said the combination of the three has taken all the pain away. Each of them helps separately, but the combination is the best. Just my two cents.

    Good morning,

Thank you so much, @KateNkognito I appreciate that. I am glad you husband is feeling better with those supplements and meds. That is my goal too. Hoping the physical therapy helps and they can give me some good stretches to help feeling so stiff.

I am still feeling pretty lousy. I can't wait for Monday when I can see the Dr. about this. In the meantime I have heard good things about Turmeric supplements to take to assist with inflammation and pain. I placed an order for one on Amazon and hopefully it is sitting in my mailbox as I type this. I set up my first PT appointment for next Thursday as that is the first slot they have.

I went to the gym last night and rode the bike again. Planning to do that tonight too. My issue is having pain in the morning and through mid day. I wake up feeling really stiff and uncomfortable. Hard to wash my hair in the shower, blow dry my hair, put on make up, get dressed, etc. Takes a while for the pain to subside. Looking forward to hopefully getting some answers soon.

In the mean time, been eating well and drinking my water. All I can do for now.

Hope everybody is having a good week. Chat soon.

Oh Geez Meghan sorry to hear of your pain. I hope you have a nice deep tub!!! I know no one with arthritis but I can say that yes I've read about turmeric being a real healing herb. Last winter you may remember me having all kinds of "fire tea" well, turmeric was one of them - you can zap almond milk in the micro and add turmeric or I prefer just with hot water, but turmeric is absorbed 1000x more when added with black pepper, so even if you mix some in while cooking rice.... add some pepper. It also stains! so watch your fingers, I used several pinches and wound up looking like an old smoker!!

nothing to report from me... I'm procrastinating like a champ!!! :#

also, Meg... have you tried yoga??

    Good morning all.

Thank you @mamainthekitchen Yes, I love my turmeric and I love putting it in different recipes. It is a great cancer fighter too, and since I am a survivor there I feel it can't hurt! Tea sounds nice. LOL on the staining! :D I have not tried yoga. I will look in to what days it is offered at our gym. Good idea. Hoping the PT folks give me some exercises and stretching for home as well.

I have been feeling pretty lousy the last few days. Instead of pain in the AM it has pretty much been ALL DAY LONG. I guess my body knows I am seeing a Dr. so it is giving me a full dose of BS.

I didn't go to the gym last night. Just wasn't up to it. Being in pain makes me tired and cranky. Started the turmeric supplement last night so hoping that been that and Advil/Tylenol/Aleeve I can get through the next few days. I asked my mom about her arthritis and she suffers from osteo not rheumatoid, so perhaps it is my Dad that passed this lovely gene along to me. I will ask him about it when I see him at Christmas time. Sigh.

Even though I skipped the gym I ate pretty well this well. No idea what my weight is. I am just not in the mood right now. Sorry to be a downer.

I am sending everybody here good fasting vibes. Hope your week went well.
    See you soon. <3

Today was a pretty good day. It was one of those days that the kids were terrible, but hysterical at the same time. :p I had a nice family dinner with my husband, two kids, and the stray kid. It was really nice. :)

@Meghan509 I hope you feel better soon! Sometimes when I finally admit I am sick my body is like, "Hey, I'm going to REALLY kick it up a notch now! No more fighting off the germs! No more masking the pain!" It is no fun to be in pain. I hope your doctor can help and the supplements help, too!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!!
