I picked up an air fryer recently, and so far have found that I like using it for wings, steak, salmon, veggies.

Anyone have good recipes or tips to share?

Slightly off topic, but I’d be interested in recommendations for air fryer models, features you like/ don’t like about your models, etc.

You can make low carb mozzarella sticks by using coconut flour and parmesan cheese instead of flour and bread crumbs. Make sure to freeze them first to avoid them melting too fast before they get cooked.

It makes great chicken breasts (bone in and skin.) Just salt, pepper and garlic powder. Cook skin side down, then turn half way through. The skin comes out super crispy and much faster than baking. About 12 min per side.

I bought one at Costco, a gourmia brand, for $54. The basket had vent slats on the sides that made it very messy to pour out any grease that collected from foods like chicken wings.

I was looking into other brands to buy as a gift for a friend, and found good reviews on the GoWise brand. They have a basket within another piece, and it’s much easier to clean. It’s also much quieter than the Gourmia brand. They’re the same size, even though the gowise is marketed as 3.7qt and the Gourmia as 5.8qt. Same temp range. The gowise has an issue with the Teflon coating chipping off the basket sometimes, but I figured I’d take my chances.

I bought a gowise for my friends and myself, about $69 each on Amazon. I’ll be returning the Gourmia to Costco.

I’ve heard that the larger toaster oven-style air fryers are a big hassle to clean. I don’t trust the pressure-cooker and AF combos, seems to me that the AFs require good airflow and the pressure cooker requires no air movement... not sure I’d trust that pressure cooker at all.

Oh I never thought about steak - does it dry it out?
