Hello Everyone... just looked up this group as I ordered my copy of new rules and should have it Tuesday. I also ordered starting strength. I only have dumbbells here at home and I recently joined a gym but it is women only and I haven't seen anyone doing any sort of heavy lifting there (the one barbell appears not to have moved since I joined lol). I have been using the machines and some free weights and have really enjoyed it so far. This surprises me greatly that I am enjoying the gym!

I hope that there are adaptations to the workouts that can be done with dumbbells at home. I will read through the posts for information, but any tips or advice for getting started are welcome! I joined mfp a while ago but only got serious about logging and started participating in the forums in the past couple of months. I've been so inspired by the stories of people's results lifting and I hope to become an inspiring story.
