I am with you on the sugar issue vhuber. I went back in to the ortho office today and sat for over two hours today just to get 45 cc’s of fluid taken off my knee. Lets just say, I am seriously considering amputation or seeing a witch doctor...lol. So count me in on sugar withdrawal and accountability.

Meanwhile....hang in there Susan. I am praying all goes well with your new parts.
Posting a big fat zero miles today.

Big Fat ZERO days are "sometimes" just what the body needs!!

@Dave all of the above. I finally got back to the gym this morning after it being closed or opening after I went to work since Sunday and the snow. I swear just walking in the door made my little heart sing. I love the morning people, they're kindred souls, whereas people at work are the exact opposite. It felt so good to move, I did a 30 min express session and stayed for the second one, even thought it meant two sessions of burpees lol. It just made my soul happy.

    Adding 2 miles.

@anaconda469 , Today was a good day! Its hard to go "completely" sugar free but I did good. I expect the withdrawal headache tomorrow. I sure hope the jaw renovation goes fast!!!

A busy day & had to drive 90 minutes one way to the middle grandsons kindergarten Christmas program . But I put the treadmill on 4.5-5 mph with a 6.5 incline for 2.25/ My shins may feel this tomorrow.

We will know in about a month is everything is OK. The realignment portion takes a couple weeks. Like I said earlier, this is not my first rodeo on this. I have had to have this rebuilt 7x since 1979. Now I can start to actually chew soft foods (other than cake of course) so I had a non liquid dinner tonight! Congrats on going sugar free, thats great!!!

@anaconda469 - seven times in 40 years is a big deal. Hopefully this is the final fix
@kar328 - I just love the sound of your little heart singing (although I suspect it is really a big and generous one) even if you are a glutton for punishment - 2 lots of burpees :D
@sufferlandrian - you are a beautiful and generous soul Dean and that cyclist was lucky to come across you. As for the car fires, I’m glad it wasn’t me too ... B)B)
@Dave - it’s wonderful that your beginning to move again.
.... and the menopause ladies, we just need to keep driving forward, pushing against the slowing metabolism.

Dean @sufferlandrian is extremely generous and a kind o:) soul. Years ago he gifted me his old Wahoo speed/cadence sensor set up, which gave me the opportunity to change up what I was doing and get my mile mileage and endurance improved. Just this week I finally replaced the setup with a new one, but my Dean setup is going on another bike to get used :):D:):D

@Dean: My knee swelling had gone down the day it was drained. I can only imagine how much they would have taken off the day before. I could not bend it and I had a tennis size bulge on my right side above my knee. Two weeks before, they took 30cc ‘s off of it. My ortho doctor keeps saying that I have arthritis in there...no kidding. I have not been able to bend my knee without pain for two days. Today, I forced my leg through full range of motion. Eaxh step was in slow motion. I looked like I was learning the mechanics of walking. I got 6 miles in and I think I ground down the bone spur on the front of my knee. I can put full weight on it tonight. Keeping fingers crossed.

@vhuber: Reduced my sugar intake by 3/4 today. So maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel....it is just that the tunnel is 10 miles long...lol.

@Susan: Still keeping good thoughts that this jaw procedure is the final one ever.

@Dave: Hope you are feeling better each day.
Dec. 12 and 13: 4 bike miles yesterday and 6 very slow walking miles today.

... thought I was falling behind as had not much of an opportunity to go out running or to the gym this week but it seems that I am managing to keep on target with the bits I did do ...

Hi there! Sorry to be MIA - I didn't read ALL the posts I missed but it sounds like most of you are well. I'm finally back in the US but after a 12 hour turn around I left again for my son's graduation. I can't believe both my boys made it through college! My younger son had to battle learning disabilities and I couldn't be more proud of him. I better remember to bring tissues to the ceremony!

I've had a relief vet in for the last three days. Spent most my time sleeping, eating and riding my bike. I think that qualifies as just about perfect. Guess I can't be a slacker all the time though so it's back to work again. I did get the Christmas lights up.

They will where a person out. I taught 5 to 11 year olds all day and I was pretty beat when I got home. I most definitely would have called it a night too.

Dean: How is the new vet working out? I am so glad you are getting a well deserved break. I spent this past week hunting down gifts for five dogs I sponsored for Christmas at a rescue where I got my pup . Their gifts will go with them when they are finally adopted. It is fun watching them enjoy it. They also had five new dogs come in shot, attacked by coyotes, two hit by cars and one will have an amputation.
Poor guy is just a year old.

Congrats to @anaconda469 on making goal -- wired jaw and all!

Fabulous day yesterday watching my son graduate. Off to New York City for Christmas dinner with my in laws. I'm going to be happy to get home when this is over.
