Good morning everyone and thanks Meghan! Hope the rest of the weekend you had a chance to relax and feel better for this upcoming week. December is in full swing now!!!!

I, as I type on my phone... have Vick’s slathered on my throat, pulled my sweatshirt hood up over my head and am wrapped in a fleece blanket snuggled on the couch! yup, lovely sight this morning! Soup is in my forecast and since I cannot speak I’m just going to go with the flow and watch one of those sappy Christmas shows on Netflix (k, maybe 2) and claim the day as a sick day! The end.

I hope none of you get a sore throat like the one I’ve got! Ouch!! And yes I’ve gargled with salt! Although I may gargle with scotch tonight!!
    Happy fasting peeps!

I am feeling better and back to logging, fasting and exercise as of this week. I think I am finally getting a handle on the rhinovirus! I always would end up with a bronchitis or pneumonia that would require antibiotics. :( A couple of years ago I got the pneumonia vaccine and that seemed to stop the pneumonia. Then I read about how if you are sick all the time take at least 10 billion strength of probiotics, so I added that on a regular basis and started taking an extra pill when I got a cold. Finally I added exercise to sweat out the virus as soon as I felt up to it. All that to say, I haven't needed antibiotics for the last too colds! Feeling very thankful!

Hope your doctor was able to help, @meghan509. I also wanted to add accupunture. I know it can do things beyond what western meds can do. Might be eye opening to do a consult. Unfortunately, Aleve is just a band-aid that taxes the liver. :(

Starting my new job on Monday! Both excited and nervous. Will be a big change for the fam.

    Have a great day!

    Hey everybody!

@mamainthekitchen sorry to hear about your cold. Feel better! Yes, a hot toddy is just what you need! LOL @dryheatfitness how about we do a virtual hot toddy party?! :p

Sounds like you are feeling better @jknight001 I have not heard about that vaccine - glad it works! I hear you about the probiotics, I swear by them. Knock on wood, I have not had a cold in a few years. Been taking them this whole time. They help with GI issues too.

Thanks for your nice words! I met with a rheumatologist or a Doctor who specializes in rheumatology. She listened to what I have been dealing with and examined me physically. She ordered more x-rays and an MRI. I tested negative for regular rheumatoid arthritis but we are pretty sure I have a different form which she is calling inflammation arthritis until we can narrow it down with more tests and research. I am still feeling stiff upon waking up and sore and fatigued in general. Yes, my Doctor did say to only take the Aleeve and such when you absolutely have to and always take it with food. That I didn't know. I only do food with Advil typically. Learned something new. I like the idea of acupuncture. Will consider that in the future if needed. :)

In the mean time I have been eating well, at least during the work week. Weekends? Not so much. Need to get better with that. Skipped the gym last night but will probably get there tonight. Sigh... That's all for now.

Hope everybody is having a good week. Speak to you all soon.

I need one of those hot toddies, too. I have a sore throat and feel kind of gross. So far, two of the four family members have been to the doctor for antibiotics... looks like I am next.
I hope everyone else is feeling better. Have a good rest of the week!

    Good morning everybody,

@KateNkognito sorry to hear it. Hope you feel better!

I got to the gym last night and I walked on the treadmill for 45 minutes. I slowed down and walked on less of an incline. Don't want to feel any worse afterward. :( Felt a little stiff last night, but otherwise not bad. Will aim for similar tonight.

Hope everybody is having a good week. Speak to you soon.

Ahhhh Kate too bad! This cold is a weird one for me... my throat is on fire! Yesterday afternoon I didn’t feel too bad so I walked my dog... stupid mistake!! It was 2C blue sky and gorgeous out and I bundled up & wore my thick wool toque, but now it’s in my chest! :s Haven’t been sick in long long time! Unfortunately I haven’t lost my appetite, only everything I eat is soup! And plain chocolate seems to soothe my throat, so there’s that! Ya, I’m pathetic....

Hope you feel better soon kate!

Oh and jknight.... I loved your lentil soup!! Made as directed and loved it!! So did the hubs... shocker! There was none left for the freezer!!

Good for you never giving up Meghan!! You are fierce! Walking on the treadmill is way better for your knees anyhow, right? Keep at it girl! sending hugs <3

Well, I forgot breakfast, had a small lunch, and Ramen for dinner because my throat is killing me. So at least feeling this bad is good for weight loss. Started on antibiotics. Hoping I feel better in the morning.

@mamainthekitchen Thanks! You might get checked out. Strep is running rampant here in the middle US. I hope you feel better soon!

@Meghan509 Thanks! Glad you got to walk last night.

    Have a good week, y'all!

    Hi All!

Isn't that soup yummy @mamainthekitchen !! We will definitely be making that one again. Since I tweaked a little, ours made a lot of soup, so I was able to make six servings out of it. More dinners woo hoo!
Thanks for the hugs! I could use 'em lately. Sigh...

@KateNkognito glad you got your antibiotics and hope you feel better fast. Weekend is almost here. Yea!

I am hanging in there. Felt lousy pretty much all afternoon yesterday. Between back pain and a nasty PMS headache I skipped the gym. Just too tired. Tonight I have my first physical therapy session so I am hopeful that will help with keeping the pain in check. I am trying not to take much Advil, Aleeve, Tylenol, etc. and so far not too bad. Tomorrow night I have an MRI to hopefully get more answers on all this.

Hope all who are fasting are doing well today! I am good with my calories. Will clock in at around 1200-1400 today most likely.

    See you soon!

Good morning everybody. Happy Friday! TGIF.

Last night I had my first Physical Therapy appointment, to help with the back pain and inflammatory arthritis I have been experiencing. I have to say I felt better walking out of there last night! Amazing how some stretching can help alleviate some of the discomfort. Basically my pain in my back is due to the pain in my right hip/butt area. Nuts how when your hip is "off" the pain radiates up through the back, when it is all based on the hip. I didn't even know my hip was bothering me until recently when I had some soreness and when the Dr. did the x-ray it showed up. Crazy.... Feeling a little sore again today but going to hang in there. Answers are coming. :)

Hope all is well with you guys. @jknight001 good luck with the new job on Monday! Can't wait to hear all about it.

    See you all soon. <3

I have to formally announce my plans to build my own TARDIS and go back in time to hug the the person who realized the power of antibiotics. I feel so much better! Should be done with classwork this weekend. Plus I am going to decorate my house today (FINALLY), so I should feel a little more festive. :) I hope you all have a great weekend!
@Meghan509 I am glad the physical therapy helped! It is truly amazing how everything works together (or sometimes doesn't)!

    LOL @KateNkognito

So glad you are feeling better! Did you guys get any of that snow yesterday? It is coming this way but thankfully is staying south of us. :#

Plugging along here. About to do my exercises that the PT gave me to do at home!

    Havea good one all!
