For the next several days, I will explain the fundamental concepts of the UAC team rules.
Tracking is the most essential of the healthy habits that will lead you to your goals and/or help you maintain your goal. What is profoundly important about the UAC is that although you sign up each month, success is achieved over many months. This is not a fad or a biggest loser and then bounce back challenge. This is a healthier life challenge.
Don't become discouraged by the difficulty in changing your habits. Habits can be very helpful or very hurtful. We want you to have the helpful healthy habit of tracking your caloric intake and exercise output.
One of my business mentors would often say, "Every organization has systems which are perfectly designed for the results that currently produce."
When we apply that concept to the human being, it would be something like this, "Everyone has habits that are currently causing us to be over, under or maintaining a healthy weight and fitness."
If you want to change your life, then change your habits....that takes time; desire; accountability and picking yourself back up when you have fallen.
Welcome to the UAC! We are here for each other and for our own healthy lives.

Wise words as ever from @RangerRickL
Tracking - yes
Calories - yes
Exercise - no, still not feeling well so listened to my body and rested. Pass 2.
For me, the habits that make me gain are not tracking, mindless eating and going over calories. As I'm usually OK with exercise I'm not overly worried about this poor start. Exercise will return with health. But I'm pleased to have stuck to my calorie goal.9 -

Yes x 3. Starting to eat back a few more exercise calories now that I am at the upper end of my maintenance range.
Was talking to a friend today who is struggling with some issues of aging. Made me realize how often I take my good health for granted. I am very grateful to reach the age of 74 without being on any medications and being able to do the things I enjoy.12 -

I will need another pass day for today. I was so good during breakfast and lunch. I even learned how to enter food to create a meal for my salad I usually eat for lunch. However, I gave in and got Sonic for me and my kid, so there went the calories!! Wow, I was shocked to see that Sonic for dinner was more calories than I ate for breakfast and lunch combined! Its ok tho...live and learn and I need to keep moving forward to reach my goal.

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes .. Cardio
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes
I didn't have any passes left in December on New Year's Eve so the thought of the group kept me accountable to stay on track because I wanted to stay in the Winner's Circle. I did take January 1 New Year's day as a pass because family made a special dinner. The choices were healthy but I went over in calories.

January 2, 2019:
EXERCISE: Yes, but not what I wanted to do. As I recover from oral surgery, I've just gotten back into exercising regularly again, but this morning, my body was telling me to pump the brakes a little bit. Got in a 30 minute walk on my lunch break, though and I may try to do a short bodyweight core exercise once my dinner has digested.
CALORIES: Yes. 2020 target; 2018 consumed - 495 exercise (think my Garmin is overestimating a bit) = 1523 net. Even without the walking, I was on target today, though, so I'm not worried about the high estimate.
TRACKED: Yes, including the two Ferrero Raffaello almond coconut treats after lunch.8 -
Exercise: Yes 25 minute indoor cycling and 60 min lifting/circuit class leg focus.
Calories: Yes under my limit
Tracked: Yes all accounted for.5 -

Hang in there. I think that the first month or so is all about learning and figuring out what works for you. I know I gained and lost the same 20 pounds for several months in the beginning. Eventually I figured out what works best for me and have gone on to lose nearly 50 pounds in the last 5 months. Now I am moving into maintenance and have more learning to do so I keep it off.
You can only do as good as you know. Keep tracking and keep posting and you will work it out.6
