What's your resolution?

Hey Everyone,

I hope you all had a very merry Christmas.

With New Years fast approaching, I thought it would be helpful if we share our resolutions. Perhaps it will help keep us accountable.

I think I've spiralled a bit out of control over the holidays, so I'm looking forward to getting back on track.

I want to be confident enough to wear a bikini by summer, so I've set some January goals to help get me there which I hope to keep up on in the coming months.

1) No sweets through January that may trigger cravings or binges. This means no keto sweets/baked goods. No lindt 90% chocolate either, which I can usually have in moderation but seem to be having more and more of lately.

2) At home exercises everynight. (Squats, planks, push ups, ect.) Strict in January to try and get into the habit, and can evaluate again in February on my fitness goals.

3) Back to food logging more consistently.

What are your resolutions for 2019?

My biggest goals for the year are to stay keto through the end of September, which will put me at my original 2 year target, and to get down to 15% body fat, which is about a 2% drop from where I am now. I have some intense workouts planned for the first half of the year and I already re-evaluate every month so that should keep me on target.

@qweck3 Wow! You've made amazing changes in your life over the past couple of years. You should be really proud of your achievements. I have no doubt you can acomplish your goals in 2019. I struggle with the social piece also as I became more and more withdrawn when the weight was put on. Perhaps you could look into some social groups or clubs in your city to meet new people? Depending on your interests there are sports clubs or board game clubs ect. I should listen to my own advice here haha.

    1. Keep my diet animal based. I'd like to lose another 10-15 lbs by following my appetite. Hopefully 1-2 lbs a month and then maintain. Keep low plant for less pain and good BG.

    2. Physio and activitity for my joints. Perhaps get the ball rolling for surgery on my hip.

    3. Get the house ready to sell.

    4. Increase work load... and pay!

@Re_Banana Thank you for the kind words and for the suggestion on the social groups. I think the weight gets a lot of us to become withdrawn from society but time for me to work on that since the weight won't be my excuse any more.

Hope you have a successful 2019!

Thank you, @Re_Banana; hope you had a great Christmas as well.

    Goals:
    1) use the post-Christmas surprise spinning bike from my wife at least 2 x 30 min sessions a week
    2) lose fat/inches (no consistent access to a scale for the first 6 - 9 months of the year but still need/want something to track)
    3) do better about "stealing" carbs (e.g. when making the kids peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, grab only a little peanut butter rather than a little peanut butter _and_ jelly. both because it never is a little of either and because hidden carbs/calories)…maybe 2020 I will move to not doing it at all.
