Tracking exercise in MyFitnesPal is a bit of a pain, so what is the solution?
Seen as almost everyone is on MyFitnessPal to lose weight, we are only interested in the overall calories which are used during exercise, so I have found the formula for working out how many calories are used based on a person age and weight.
I will set-up custom exercises within your profile that you can use to estimate how many calories you use druing different activities.
Some activities use more calories than others, so the custom exercises have been set-up according to what percentage intensity level you have exercised at.
All you have to do is click "Add Exercise" on the "Home" screen, then click "Add Exercises" under the "Cardiovascular" heading. If your custom exercsie does not show up under the list, search for it by entering 65% or 70% or what ever level you want to enter.
Choose the correct custom exercise and put in the number of minutes you exercised at and click "Add"
Here is a guideline for what level of intensity each type of exercise is:
70% = LBT, Zumba, Body Cond, PT
75% = Pump, Spin, Boxing
80% = Insanity , Hour of Power, Les Mills Combat
Obviously if you loaf during the workout, these levels will be less.
