WI and DietBet

I had my first WI last night and am down #5. A good start for week 1.

Even more exciting is that I won my DietBet! It was a 4 week bet, and by meeting my goal, I get my buy in $ back and a cut of the pot. It'll be fun to see how many of the 640 people in this challenge were successful. I found it very motivating to have $ on the line, so I'm considering doing a 6 month bet. Seems like it could be good long motivation. Still thinking ...

Thanks for the encouragement guys! Seems like 'getting back at it' is much harder then 'staying at it' so I needed a little extra help to get going. And winning, in both areas, is definitely fun and motivating, and I'm establishing some new habits, that will help me stay on track.

    Congrats Lin!

I'm intrigued by the Diet Bet concept. I've seen it mentioned on some other forums. One of my biggest obstacles would be sending my picture to strangers.

I guess since they're stranger's I wasn't too worried about it. And there was an option to keep it private, which I did!

And now, you're just "at it"--over the hurdle and on-the-track. Good for you, @linmueller !

We'll see. I've been on both sides, years on program, and weeks then a dive off the cliff. I'm working to find short term goals, and also spending time trying to get to the root of the problem and develop strategies for when things get dicy. Really trying to remember what I want in the long term. A true work in progress!
