What foods should I eat?

I figure it would be useful to do this event to discuss foods we should be consuming. If you are a seasoned Keto dieter I’d love your opinions. If you are new I’d love to hear your questions. We need communication so we can all do this right
Eat plenty of fat, and don’t go over your carbs. Limit your intake of protein. I used this to calculate protein intake for my diet:

What fats? All of them!
- Heavy whipping cream, look for the ones with no sugar added and organic when possible. Use it with coffee, on your Keto pancakes, shakes , mashed cauliflower (recipes will be posted on Keto recipes momentarily) and, everything that requires milk.
- Butter, tons of butter, use real butter, organic when possible.
- Avocados are very fatty but watch your carbs
- Coconut oil is also a MCT oil (medium chain triglycerides) which helps with your energy levels. Some people keep it refrigerated to eat it by the spoon (not me). Use it to cook, try not to use it at high temperatures, I personally don’t like to use oils at more than 320 to 360 degrees to preserve flavor and nutritional values, and adds flavors to certain recipes.
- olive oil, it is easy to level your fat intake if you just add a tablespoon of olive oil to your meals. My husband usually makes a small salad with olive oil when his macros are short on fat.
- If you are used to snacking buy some kale chips and make sure they do not have sugar. Look for the lowest carb content on the shelf.
- Your to go fruits are blackberries and raspberries. You should not have more than 4 or 5 of these delicious fruits. I personally make my evening shake with them most evenings.
- Buy beef shanks to make broth, this is a life savior in winter, and delicious. Use at will. Beef shanks broth has one of the most important nutrients Keto dieters need, magnesium. It also has potassium as well as many other nutrients, so don’t be shy and make plenty of it, then freeze for later use.
- Don’t be afraid of fatty meats, however, watch your macros as to not over eat protein. If you do, whip up some heavy whipping cream and eat it. Or make a shake with it. If none of this are available use your olive oil over your meat when baking it or barbecuing it. Better yet, use warm butter as sauce over your stake.
- Cheese, this is a great source of fat, but be very careful to buy the right one. Don’t buy in packages, go to the deli. Tell the attendant you are looking for cheese without sugar content. They have charts and will be able to find what you are looking to consume. My choice is Vermont cheddar cheese from Boars Head. They have a big selection of cheese without sugar. Other good cheese to use is feta cheese no sugar added, cream cheese no sugar added
