weight loss vs inches lost

Ok so I hear people talking about stepping away from the scale and looking at inches lost. I know this is usually a better way of judging fat loss. I have lost 7.9 lbs since I started back on 5/20 of this year. I've also lost 2.5 inches on my waist, 1 inch on my hips, and 1 inch off my thighs. However even though I continue to lose weight my measurements have been the same for over a month. So what does that mean? Am I doing something wrong? For example, I lost 1.1 pounds from 8/5 to today but all of my measurements are the same. I had been on vacation for 3 weeks, I weighed when I came home and had lost 0.2 pounds. So I have 3 weeks of no logging and the last couple of weeks are not typical, I'm trying to get back into the swing of things. I typically try to eat 1550 calories with at least 113g protein, 56g fat, and the rest where ever. I do SL 5x5 3 times a week and run about 3 miles twice a week. I'm new to this and just want to make sure I am doing it correctly. Thanks

Using a tape measure or a scale are simply tools to measure progress, one is not necessarily better than the other. The important part is looking at the big picture, i.e. what is the long term trend, how consistent your diet has been, you consistent your workout routine has been, etc.
3 weeks is a pretty long time to be out of the swing of things, I'd give it a while before you try to draw any conclusions about what is or isn't working.0 -
Agree re giving it more time. If your weight has remained static and your measurements as well you were probably eating at maintenance while on vacation. However, the scale and measurements are impacted by water weight and measurements are not that accurate (different spots measuring and different tensions with the tape).0
