Every month, we celebrate and share our Non-Scale-Victories. Maybe it's how you are more flexible or more fit. Maybe you fit in a smaller size of clothes.
What is making you happy this month that is due to making a healthy habit change of life?
For me, I'm focusing on Pilates core strength exercises to support my back and allow me to do the exercise that I love the most...riding horses.
I've gotten much stronger and my posture is more often, much better.
How about you...what are you excited to share?

Oh, i love NSV day! I enjoy reading about everyones NSV's - i find it really inspiring!
Date: March 15
Exercised?: Yes - 25 minute walk.
Calories?: Yes - nicely under.
Tracked?: Yes - every bite tracked.
I went clothes shopping recently and found that I'm 2 sizes smaller on the top, and one size smaller on the bottom. Yay! I'm running more than i used to (and I'm loving it!), which has helped me knock a few minutes off my PB at Parkrun. And I'm feeling just more confident and content within myself.
But one of my biggest NSVs is that over the last few months I've finally learned that i can lose weight without starving myself. I'm enjoying all the foods i always have, just smaller/correct portions. I found an old notebook of mine this week that contained a "diet plan" I'd written to help me lose weight. I don't know how old this notebook is, but it would be years. But i read what I'd written down as my sample daily menu - it was 850 cals total! I'm shocked that i used to think that was healthy, or achievable... it's no wonder i never stuck to it! I'm so glad i started using the MFP forums, as I've learnt a lot about how to safely lose weight, and I'm thankful for this group as you've kept me accountable and I'm doing better than i ever have before.
Sorry, that turned in to a novel!
Looking forward to reading about all of your successes11 -
My favorite day, too!
NSV’s:
Hiking a trail with many hill climbs 14 minutes faster than a month ago. 90 to 76 minutes!!
Lifting heavier weights for shoulder/back!!!
Handling sad/stressful news much better (visualizing news coming in & flowing through me like water down into the ground/aquifers)
Making art fearlessly/enthusiastically daily!
Significantly more positive body self-talk than even 2 months ago.
Exercising significantly daily. A true habit.
I can feel the new muscles building!
Attracting (slowly) a group of fellow Creatives to make art together..:
More social engagements without calories
Sleeping better.
Since I am on the tail end of the time zone for this group, if it’s ok with you all I will post on the next day’s chat.
I will re-post yesterday’s here to begin:
March 14
As you all know, I’ve been struggling with weight this past month- bad habits slowly crept in, hunger signals ramped up, I was pretty scared...
I am Back on track - finally!
Scale got up to my top wt 155
I had spent the last week whacking sweets from 3 a day to 2. Embarrassing, but yes that was what I slowly changed & began to do.
Then I looked at my micros & macros, looking at averages over the past year. Feb & the first 2 weeks of Mar were The anomaly.
Sodium- ⬆️⬆️
Sugars ↗️
Servings fruit/veg ↘️
Eating out ⬆️⬆️
Fiber⬇️⬇️
Carbs
Sat fat (feb)⬆️⬆️
Calorie deficit ↘️
Realized I’d substituted sweets for fruit sugars AND was eating some white flour instead of whole grain, both of which almost halved my Fiber.
So reduced sodium < 1,500mg
Upped fruit/veg > 5
Whole grained bread only
Max one sweet per day
Eating at home
Yes x 3
Exercise 90 mins Very fast, multiple hills walk- so grateful I can do this.
40
Mins shoulder, back - weight lifting/PT
Calories- Under 341 BEST in a Ling time!
Track - All, every day- for Life. Data is Power!
Now, to do it again6 -

Exercise yes, 10 min quigong, 30 min leslie sansone, 30 min yoga, 150 min cleaning, 40 min walk

(sighs wistfully and ever so slightly jealously .... )
that's a NSV I hope to be able to report SOME day .... but won't even start working on it until (maybe) Jan or Spring 2020.
By next month I WILL be reporting "making progress on Second Language Test practice fearlessly (for sure) / enthusiastically (kinda?) daily (needs to be part of new daily evening routine to make it stick)!"
One emotionally high-stress target goal at a time. And the SLE test has a work-related time-deadline that breaking creativity mental-blocks does not.
===============
THIS month's NSV report ....
I bought BRAND NEW CLOTHES THREE TIMES (so far) this month! Not "new to me" from thrift store.
Including a "deck-party casual" stretchy-material dress in a Medium. (snugger-fitting line than the size Small tops I bought earlier). I don't usually wear skirts ....
And after having three bags of clothes and dresser-drawer-stuff picked up for the donation drive last Monday, I have already started a new donation pile of "no point in mending / trying to alter" clothes from the overflowing mending basket. (The thrift store also accepts "unsellable" clothes so that the cloth is still re-purposed by their warehouse and kept out of landfills)5 -

3 X’s Yes
60 minute yoga class.
I’m stupid under on calories, hoping to kick this colds butt (mostly by sleeping through it).
I love NSV day! My closet is totally bare, every week I’m getting rid of more and more. I’m super excited for some spring shopping. I had to buy all new underwear last week!
I got a new license photo and I look 10 years younger!
Had to get a ring guard for my wedding band, this is the replacement for the one that flew off after the first 40lbs! I’m not losing this one.5 -
Pass day (1 of 3)4
-
3/15
Signing off and will be taking pass days for the rest of the month. Tomorrow is our oldest grandchild's 16th birthday celebration (her actual birthday is 3/20 the first day of spring)...and we'll be traveling for the remaining days in the month of March as well as the first 2 weeks of April.
I have never mastered estimating and reporting calories when I don't have access to a food scale; and internet access will be intermittent if not non-existent, at times, during our trip. I will miss all of you and look forward to coming home to UAC mid-April. Cheers everyone...and best wishes to you all for the remainder of the month!
Kindest regards,
Carol7 -

Awesome NSVs, everyone! It's always so empowering to read all the ways people's lives are changing for the better.
My NSVs for this month:- I actually put a pair of jeans in the dryer to shrink them deliberately to make them fit better.
- A t-shirt that was too small the last time I tried it on fit unexpectedly when I tried it on without much hope yesterday.
- When I re-did Beginner Shred this week, I was able to do the harder versions of several of the moves having not realised how much I'd improved from when I'd first been doing it.
- I didn't have storebought cake at work just because it was there. (I don't really like storebought cake that much, but in the past, "free" would have trumped that.)
- I made it through two very stressful weeks at work by preplanning my meals and sticking to them rather than using it as an excuse to not eat well.

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Recumbent bike, 20 minutes, 6.12 miles
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes
Safe travels and see you in April, @w8goal4life!
I am able to go to social functions now and not even be in the food area. No temptations, no draw, nothing. My birthday was yesterday and a good friend in my small group brought an angel cake with sliced strawberries and whipped cream (very sweet since they know I'm eating healthier). They brought me a piece and sang "Happy birthday" and I was able to save that for today. Not even tempted to get into it at the gathering or at home. That is huge for me, a former food addict.
I'm going to try on a pair of pants one size smaller tomorrow. I haven't worn them since '14 or '15. I'll let you know what happens.4 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes. 30 minutes of walking to and from the gym, plus about 50 minutes of strength training (Stronglifts Workout A).
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes. I cycle my calories over the week, so I always eat more on the weekends than weekdays. I don't eat back my exercise calories, I work off the TDEE method.
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes. Homemade pizza! An Old-Fashioned! So good.
I love NSV day. Great NSV's from folks, loving reading them!
My NSV - today was my monthly gym selfie and I can see serious progress when I compare them to the ones I took in January and February. Plus, my pajama pants and my workout pants both are almost too big to wear. I could probably size down now, and maybe I should, but I'm going to keep wearing these until I absolutely can't because it would be great to go from X-L to M!
@fitphoenix - that's a great NSV on the Shred! That's a hard program!
@lalabank Those are awesome NSV!!
@MadisonMolly2017 What a great set of NSV!!!6 -

Pass Day No 2
Exercise: 45 cardio/10 strength/35 yoga
Calories: No! I had a planned Pass day today as we went to a wine tasting, and there were nibbles.
Tracked: No!
Although I tried estimating my food calories to track them this evening, I had to give up in the end, so I can't, in all honesty, say that I was under.
NSV was that I only had a very small sip of each wine, and a minimal quantity of the nibbles.6 -

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? 3 mile treadmill run this morning
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes and under
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yep!
Being I'm very close to my goal weight, I haven't been having as many NSVs lately. However, I have noticed how much stronger I've been getting and more defined my muscles have become. And the other day, I noticed I had baby abs! It's nice to know I can still have NSVs even when so close to my goal weight.6 -
Wow!! What a fun day it is to read all of your successes!!
Exercise: I did 63 minutes of strenuous speed walking with jump rope intervals and lots of pushups and split squats.
Tracking: good
Calories: nice margin under limit.
This was my hardest workout since my back pain problem last Christmas. I am getting stronger and continuously reminding myself to both sit up with neutral spine and stand up with neutral spine.5
