Sometimes we need to say good-bye or hopefully, see you later to team mates. Yesterday, @TeresaW1020 said she needed to step out for awhile. Wish her a get-well!

And yesterday, out of the blue, @Simonschange, rejoined and greeted everyone hello. For those who don't know Simon, he went from big to fit through grit and determination.
Welcome back, Simon!

Thank you for your kind words yesterday @BonnieHosk85 @fitphoenix and @corriepelc . I stayed right on track today, even though I'm still reeling from yesterday. Took hubby and myself off to the movies which made for a lovely afternoon.

I hope you feel motivated as you read.5 -
I noticed that we are roughly 109 members in this group but only roughly an average of 65 postings each day for the past 6 days. If these postings represent members (I know some member may have more than 1 post), then we are missing roughly 54 people.
What is happening? How can we motivate or encourage the rest?3 -

I had a terrible night at the ER last night.
It was shaming and I am devastated today.
I have suffered from chronic pain for 25 years as the result of the ravages and scar tissue from endometriosis.
In Aug 2017, I underwent a 12hr life-threatening back surgery at Johns Hopkins that had a 25% chance of paralyzing me from the mid back down, and 100% chance of leaving me paralyzed from the waist down if I did not have it.
For no known reason, my disc at T10-11 was herniated in two places and had been intermittently both compressing my spinal cord. The diagnosis was delayed by the fact my insurance company does not MRI a small section of the spine there because only 0.02% of the population have a defect there resulting in problems.
I was luck to have *the* surgeon to operate on me, one of the few that would operate on me, and to live near Hopkins. He would not agree to operate until I was paralyzed and my MRI showed my spinal cord was not transmitting signal, involving months on end of me Ubering to the closeby ER for scans.
Luckily, it was greatly a success. However - they could only fuse one portion of the vertebrae because the surgery had gone too long. They widened my spinal canal. It took the pressure off the spinal cord and I recovered slowly over 1.5 yrs gaining 120lbs in the 2.5 yr whole ordeal. I was still on a walker, then graduated to walking.
I’d been on strong opioid pain meds until Jun 2018. I went to a spinal pain management clinic at Hopkins to look at back injections of steroids, etc as alternatives to pain meds. I was at my highest weight ever 258 lbs. The weight was crippling added onto the back of mine.
It was the most humiating moment of my life. The dr came in brusquely and standing in the doorway, said “Normally I wouldn’t even have taken this appointment given your weight, but I decided to anyways.”
He went on say he treated his patients like family and the following is what he would say to anyone of them. That my body was like a car. And I’d packed twice as many people in that car as it fit. People’s arms and legs were hanging out the windows.
He could fix me, my spine, my pain, he said very arrogantly, but I’d just “break again” if I remained obese.
He said he’d consider pointing me to a Hopkin’s weight loss plan/etc and taking me on as a patient if I lost x pounds first.
By then I was lost in my mind somewhere.
I’d thanked him numbly and left.
I took myself off my pain meds cold turkey at home last June, replacing it with nothing.
I’m not up to saying more, but on top of shingles pain, or mixed in with it is excruciating pain I think must be radiating from my back.
I got cruel inhuman treatment at the ER where MY PCP HAD SENT ME FOR ACUTE PAIN CONTROL. Long story short, they gave me a small amount of relief and with no further exploration as to why - is this shingles, issue with my back they discharged me before talking to me. Told me to get on pain meds at my current pain mgmt doc so I didn’t have to come to an ED.
They said things they *never* would have said to anyone but a woman alone without family/hi/partner/bf in an EDi am sure of it from past experience.
When I asserted myself, the nurse picked up the phone to “have security escort me out” until I agreed to stop speaking. I did and Ubered home.
Tomorrow I am going to pain management and likely will be forced to go on some regimen of opioid when I do not need them all the time because while it may be reasonable to treat chronic pain at such a place if you can find it, there is no place to get acute pain control that I am aware of in the US other than the ER/hospital.
I think Pain Mgmt can give you emergency meds but I really don’t want any of this in my home.
I may not have a choice. Alternate options have failed.
Thank you listening....19 -

Welcome back @SimonsChange, and wishing all the best to @TeresaW1020.
@strongscarlet -- I am so sorry about what you've been going through and had to endure. We are here for you to support you and be your venting place. Big hugs!
Today is an unintended Pass Day. I woke up feeling very under-the-weather -- I wasn't feeling well yesterday and was hoping it was just allergies, but I'm not sure now.
In any case, I worked from home to take it easy and have barely moved. I feel like such a sloth. LOL And I have not eaten well or tracked. So I shall be taking a Pass Day tomorrow.
Hoping to be back on track tomorrow!7 -

Exercise? Yes, 35 minute exercises through the @RangerRickL windy city of Chicago. Interesting journey though Millennium Park, alongside Chicago's Bean and the waterfront promenade to the Planetarium. Have passed through Chicago...but never stayed long enough to enjoy this city. We were just happy to get out of the traffic jam that was moving at 3mph. This was a new perspective.

3x’s Yes
One hour aerobics class this morning.
Good on calories, used about 100 earned exercise calories which is what I allow myself on days with 60 minutes or more of cardio.
I had planned on upping my calories this month and take a maintance month but never adjusted so I’m going to stick with what’s been working.
